Andrew and Kate met in 2018 the modern way— online! (Specifically, Bumble). Andrew's profile said “looking to make someone laugh” and Kate's profile said “looking for someone to make me laugh.” Andrew swept Kate away with a joke about scare crows and landed himself a first date. Andrew took Kate to Siam Ginger in Somerville on their first date. The two began to hit it off, even after Kate, a dietitian, learned of Andrew's hatred towards fruit. Luckily, she let this slide. As they continued to get to know each other, they learned that not only do they have a shared sense of humor but they also share many of the same interests. Andrew appreciates Kate’s kindness and love of her job. Kate appreciates that Andrew is adventurous and a true gentleman. They spent the next three years enjoying countless adventures including skiing, hiking, socializing, eating, laughing and being goofy together.

Andrew knew that Kate and three of her good friends were planning a trip to Yellowstone. He leveraged this into a full extravaganza of love, friendship and surprises. He and Kate had planned a camping trip in Jackson Hole two days prior to her friend's arrival. Unbeknownst to anyone, Andrew pulled off the ultimate proposal in The Grand Tetons after a tedious 13 mile hike. Kate quickly said "yes," and was quite impressed that he hadn't lost the ring or spilled the beans along the way.
