Kate and Robbie met in Madison, Wisconsin while working at Epic Systems. Even though they were on the same team for about a year, Robbie kept finding excuses to stop by Kate's office to say hi. While on a work trip in Boston, Kate and Robbie finally went on their first 'non-date' date. While aimlessly wandering around Boston Common for 2+ hours in search of the Make Way for Ducklings statue, Robbie and Kate both secretly knew that this 'non-date' date was the real thing. Over the next 4.5 years, Kate and Robbie have explored the world, lived in different time zones, created countless memories, and finally created a home together in Denver.

On November 10, 2018, Robbie fulfilled his plot to get Kate to marry him. Although Kate thought it was going to be a regular Saturday adventure, little did she know what was in store. We headed down to Garden of the Gods near Colorado Springs to walk around. Although chilly outside, which meant Kate was of course freezing, Robbie oddly did not offer his jacket as there was precious cargo hidden in the pocket. As Kate turned around a corner in the middle of the park, Robbie slowed down and got on one knee to ask for Kate's hand in marriage. There were other nice things said, but neither of us remember what they were...oh well, it was a magical moment. After, Robbie and Kate went to the Broadmoor for celebratory champagne on the patio and a romantic Italian dinner to end the perfect day.
