How we met

January 2019

They met in Algebra 2 in his junior year and her sophomore year. It must have been luck because they just so happened to have been sat right across from one another. One day he had pointed out that her foot was bandaged and out of concern he started a conversation with her. They exchanged phone numbers. He later invited her to come visit JROTC. The moment they met they knew their was something between them, but had not known the extent of it.

Boyfriend and Girlfriend

March 7th 2020

After both receiving harsh rejections, Carter had decided to ask Kate to the Cadet Ball. After school she was asked to walk into a room and pull a sting which led to the sign saying "Will you go to the cadet ball with me?" She check the box labeled "yes". Then came March 7th, another cold winters night. She had spent all day getting ready. When he had walk through that door his jaw dropped. She stood there in that blue dress that her parents surely regret buying. They said "If that dress hadn't had made her so beautiful this wouldn't have happened." They said their goodbyes and headed off. They had an amazing time. All throughout the night people had mentioned how great of a couple they would make. Unlike normal teens they didn't enjoy the fast, paced dancing. So they waited all night for a slow dance but never got one. They left early to the after party and they had an amazing time there. After everyone was heading home Carter said "I have an idea, I've always wanted to do this." They drove to the mall's empty parking lot, left the headlight of the car on and both go out. Cold and windy outside, he took his uniform coat and put it on her and said " dance with me" They dance to song "Flower" by Brendan's (one of the groomsman) band, Winterhaven. The dance ended with her in tears saying "why are you being to kind to me?!" He responded "because I love you."

The Engagement

December 22nd, 2020

Its was a bitter, windy night. They were all dress for a formal dinner at the Gertey's house. The cover story was that Carter wanted to take family photos with everyone. They had drove to a path that leaded to a small stream. On the way there, a path had been lit up by candles. At the end was the stream and a flannel mat surrounded by lanterns and candles. To make her less suspicious Carter had taken a few photos with the officiator, Jared Gerety. Up next the couple. They had taken one picture and then Carter said "Before we go any farther I have something to ask you." He got on one knee and popped the question. "Will you marry me?" Kate had burst into tears and said "Yes!".
