Wood's High Mountain Distillery
If you're looking for a great local cocktail and some good conversation, check out Wood's High Mountain Distillery in downtown Salida. Even if you don't like whiskey, they have great craft cocktails for all! We highly recommend their Blood Marys! You can also book a tour and check out the distillery.
Colorado Surf Factory Whitewater Rafting Adventures
If you are looking for some adventure, we highly recommend white water rafting while you're here! The Surf Factory is less than half a mile away from Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort. We took our family white water rafting last May and had a great experience with the guides from Colorado Surf Factory! Great for ages 10+ Ask for Kyle, and tell him the Dickensheets sent you! :)
Elevation Beer Company
This is one of our favorite breweries in the area! We always stop when we are in town or driving through! They have a Food Truck as well as an outdoor patio. We love their beer so much we are serving it at the wedding! Just remember to drink A LOT of water while you are visiting! Altitude sickness is a real thing and will ruin your time here!
Sub-Culture Cyclery
Great mountain biking rental shop! Great customer service and they will give you recommendations for trails, based on experience.
Eddyline Restaurant at South Main
Great brewery in Buena Vista! They have an extensive list of beers and also serve food. Live music in their Beer Garden during the summer.
The Asian Palate
If you are looking for awesome asian food while you are visiting, be sure to check out Asian Palate in Buena Vista. We visited this past fall and had a great meal! The Beef Broccoli Udon noodles will not disappoint. We hear they have great sushi (flown in fresh daily) too!

The Jailhouse Craft Beer Bar
This bar is one of a kind. The Jailhouse Craft Beer Car is located in downtown Buena Vista. The bar is in a neat historic building with a great outdoor patio area, and a craft beer list that will not disappoint! If you go to Asian Palate for dinner be sure to stop by The Jailhouse for a pre or post dinner brew!
