Katarina and Zach met on the dating app ‘Hinge.’ Like true millennials, they had both been on their fair share of first dates through dating apps; but had yet to find what they were looking for. Katarina met a few nice young men along the way; but none quite like Zach. As she scrolled through the endless profiles of eligible bachelors; one part of Zach’s profile in particular caught her attention. His answer to the question “What is most important to you?” was simple and honest: “Family.” Messages were exchanged, and they were off to the races. Both eager to meet one another, they decided to have dinner and drinks at ‘A TAVOLA’ in Over-the-Rhine. They made their way to the restaurant separately through a torrential downpour. Against both his sisters’ advice, at the risk of “looking like a loser,” Zach, the gentleman that he is, made sure to bring an umbrella along just in case; and it made an impression. The two finally met at the restaurant, shared that awkward first date initial greeting, and sat down for dinner. The date was going well. They both quickly realized that they had a lot in common, and there was definite chemistry. As dinner came and went, the waitress returned to ask if they would like another drink. The two glanced at each other, hesitantly looking for a sure sign that they were both having a good time. Their smiles said it all. After another drink, a few laughs, and continued conversation, they decide to bar hop along Vine Street. Thank God for that umbrella! The first stop was at ‘The Lackman’ for a beer; then onto ‘The Rook’ to play a few board games. Their first date ended with a first kiss on the corner of 13th and Vine; and just like that; July 20th, 2018 was the beginning of their lives together.
