Don't tell them what I said about Il Nido, another Italian spot close to Travis's heart as he was the first GM of Hotel Ballard which shares its walls with this restaurant. Great for happy hour and a cocktail, the fried olives will be gone before you know it!
Great small bites that highlight the PNW's exceptional seafood. It can get busy so put in your name and enjoy a cocktail at their bar next door or take a stroll around the shops of Ballard Ave. $2 oyster happy hour Monday-Friday 4-5pm!
You guessed it, we like the Pilsner! Breweries are part of Seattle culture, so start here and make sure you leave enough time to bop around to some of the surrounding breweries. Bring your kids, bring your dog, if it were Travis and I, we would bring a deck of cards.
Really any of their locations, but if you're from out of town you can't beat this view. We get the Pilsner, duh.
One of our favorite restaurants to enjoy a family style meal with friends (think inspiration for our reception dinner to come). Everything is good but we love the dip trio (don't skip the baba ganoush), cauliflower and any of the grilled proteins!
Home to our first date and first stop post engagement. If they are on the menu the hush puppies are a must. The menu is short, sweet, and rotates often. Have the bartender make you a one-of-a-kind cocktail or pick from the current list. If you're Kat on our first date, you'll find yourself using the restroom when the check comes. Take a shot of Malort with the owners, they're always behind the bar and making the food.
Kat and Travis use to live a stone's throw from this golf complex. The right amount of golf in the right location, enjoy the driving range or play a short 9.
Where Travis proposed and a frequent flyer for us on a Sunday evening when we lived in Interbay. Great views of the water and trails to admire the evergreens.
Our favorite Italian restaurant and just a few steps from Alki beach, which hosts one of the best views of Seattle. Kat celebrated her most recent birthday here and wants to make sure you never skip on the focaccia and suggests you enjoy the meal family style to try lots of different things. They rely heavily on reservations but do have a small bar if you want to try and walk up!
Started by a friend, there's a location in our current and old neighborhood, how convenient! Kat's favorite is the Rice Rice Baby while Travis usually goes for the Kolsch (no Pilsner currently on the menu). Each month they give a portion of their proceeds to a different charity, so don't limit yourself!
Our local public course. No driving range but book a tee time or if you're short on time, it's a great place to practice your chipping and putting.
If it were up to Travis, we would make Thunder Road guitars a mandatory Sunday morning activity.
Love this Pioneer Square guitar store. Great stop even if you're not into playing.
Lots of neighborhoods to choose from... Ballard! Fremont! West Seattle!
Beautiful walk along the water and close to downtown. If you walk South, you'll hit the Olympic Sculpture Park and may just find our reception venue.
A favorite Mediterranean restaurant of ours. The dishes rotate with the season, but they always have our favorite dips the lamb ragu over tahini and labneh with tomatoes and mint. The pita is chef's kiss.
Two locations you can't go wrong with either. Delicious pizza and pasta, need I say more?
This may be attached to Travis's place of work, but that's not why we're adding it to the list. Has an old school Italian vibe and the dishes are delicious. As always, we prefer to share to try more of the menu. The negroni is a favorite.
Ride in style and take a water taxi from downtown Seattle and back. Enjoy a walk on the beach or rent a bike. When you get hungry, Marination is a casual spot to eat outside.
It's Seattle, duh. Kat's favorite salmon sandwich is at the Market Grill halfway through the main market.
Get a group together and rent a boat on Lake Union. You can be your own captain, deck team and chief stewardess.
Delicious Caribbean food, the pork sandwich is a classic but do not sleep on the black beans. There are multiple locations to choose from, but this one is down by Golden Gardens Park if you want to take a stroll and eat with a view.
Recently awarded restaurant of the year by Seattle Met, this spot serves elevated pub food in a cozy environment.
