Kat met Monica as a lab partner at OCU in a Science Methods class. Monica clung to Kat as she was the only freshman in the room and Kat was also an education major. From there, they bonded over education trends, knowing the same United Methodists, and a love for a night out dancing with their favorite people. Their friendship hit its full stride when they spent 10 days in Costa Rica for a study abroad trip. They spent 10 days bird watching, plant species identifying, drinking “cork wine”, and doing a nightly Facebook live to keep their friends and family up to date on their shenanigans. Since college, Kat and Mon continue to bond over birds and good times (or good booze, however you want to word it), but most importantly, their love for teaching children.

Kat met Lexa through their time together on both the OCU Spirit Squads and as sisters in Alpha Phi. Lexa learned quickly how difficult it can be to keep up with Kat on a night out, when Kat got her very drunk during the first frat party of their sophomore year. From that time on, Lexa knew what to expect - and knew that Kat was going to be a lifelong friend. Flash forward several years later, and Kat and Lexa were hitting the town at 23 years old. Lexa’s favorite things about Kat are that she is adventurous, hilarious, and a deeply loyal friend. Although she is sad that the video she recorded for Kat never actually made it to Big Brother for casting, she couldn’t be happier to stand beside her on her big day :)
