Central Park is closed to traffic. Whether by car or by foot to reach the Boathouse you enter the Park at Fifth Ave and 72nd Street and follow the traffic road to the right. It is a very pleasant walk and should take between three and six minutes. There is also a shuttle service that will be available at approximately fifteen minute intervals to take you from Fifth Avenue and the Boathouse. The shuttle will stop at the corner of 72nd Street and at 80th Street near the Metropolitan Museum's garage. The shuttle will be easy to spot as it has The Boathouse name on it
The Boathouse is exactly 1 mile from the Park Lane Hotel. If you are staying at the Park Lane you can either, walk the mile through the park, this will take roughly 20 minutes. or take a cab to 72nd and Fifth Ave. If you take a cab to 72nd and Fifth it is a .2 mile walk to the Boathouse.
