Wedding Party

Jane Hwang

Maid of Honor

I met this girl at my house in 1999 and roomed together for over 20 years. She is a little bit needy and a bit of a leech but I love her!

Shreeram Suresh

Best Man

I met Shreeram during my freshman year of high school. However, we didn’t become really good friends until our sophomore year, where we discovered that we had so many common interests such as basketball, gaming, and cramming for exams last minute. Some of my favorite memories with him include playing Warcraft at the Lone Star College Library, “pranking” people on our high school trip to Disney World, and discussing how the Rockets will screw up another offseason. I’m so grateful that we’ve managed to stay close despite living in different states now, and I’m always looking forward to our next trip together.

Areum Yeo

Bridesmaid

Areum and I met on the way to Breakaway at Texas A&M in 2014. I barely knew her but somehow was invited to her birthday party that year, and from then on we became close friends through our shared love of food. Some of my best memories with her are eating a whole pizza and 2 pints of icecream at the underground in one night, being short lived roommates at Neely when my roommate moved out early, and people always asking us if we are twins. She is an amazing friend who always encourages me and gives me her honest thoughts and advice.

Beni Sanchez

Groomsman

I met Beni during my freshman year of high school, and similar with Shreeram’s case, we got closer in our sophomore year as we found that we had similar interests, sense of humor, and a lot of the same classes. Some of my favorite memories with him include attempting the Freebirds monster burrito challenge (he finished, but I didn’t ☹) and going to New York together for our senior orchestra trip. I can always count on Beni to understand any random gaming or tv/movie reference that I make.

Christina Sohn

Bridesmaid

Christina and I met in the psychology building at Texas A&M in 2014. Little did we know that we would both change out of that major and end up in completely different career fields. Some of my best memories with her are our freshman year workout sessions, going to the Epik High concert together, Christina yelling out my name in the MSC when she saw me, and our Pinkberry dates! She is super smart (working on her masters) and she is always there for me!

Daniel Lee

Groom

I’m not sure when I met Daniel. I’m pretty sure we took a math tutoring class together once in high school, but we really became close friends when I transferred to Texas A&M University. Some of my favorite memories with him include going to Cabo together with our SO’s and going island hopping in Panama during Eric’s bachelor party trip. I’m not worried about not getting enough face time with him, since I see him in the office every day now.

Helen Hong

Bridesmaid

I met Helen in 2016 at my apartment when Areum brought her over during her freshman year. I thought she was super pretty and we became friends instantly. She stays doing derpy things that make me laugh. Some of my best memories with her are when I was about to call 911 because I thought she was passed out in her room, playing with her adorable doggos, when we had to protect her from a rabid man, and when her toe "fell off". I can always count on her for a shoulder to lean on as well as a girls night out!

David Lee

Groomsman

I met David when I was in high school at church basketball. I would’ve never thought that he would become such a close friend later in my life, because at the time, he was just a chubby younger kid to me that hooped and made people laugh. Of course now he’s much stronger than me and although I spent a lot of time with him in college and did so many things together, the one thing that we did not do together was workout and it shows for me 🤣. Some of my favorite memories with David include ATVing in Costa Rica on crazy roads and paths that probably weren’t safe and playing pickup ball at the rec.

Jiwan Park

Bridesmaid

I met Jiwan in 2014 but we really became best friends in 2015 when we randomly decided to be roommates without really knowing each other. It was probably one of the best choices I ever made. It's hard to think of "best memories" with her because we shared so much of our lives together, but some off the top of my head are being roommates with her all throughout college, when we ate twinkies that one night, dreading being bridesmaids, AOMG/SIK-K/PH-1 concert, music class with the old professor, YOUnique, and patronizing the halls of the dusty Post Oaks mall. We really went from best friends to literal sisters!

Eric Jung

Groomsman

I’ve known Eric since he was a little boy at church wanting to play basketball with the older kids but being too timid to join, he just rode his Heelys around the church from afar instead. Now, he’s taller than me and better than me at basketball, and through mutual friends, he became one of my good friends as well. Some of my favorite memories with him include a trip to Austin where we literally did nothing for 8 hours and being a sick electric guitar duo for high school praise team at a retreat. I can always count on Eric to untangle my fishing line whenever it gets tangled or stuck in rocks.

Rachel Lee

Bridesmaid

I met Rachel at Agape at Texas A&M. I really got to know her when she moved into a neighboring unit at the same apartment. We were part of different groups but she somehow became an unofficial member of the highly regarded Lofts Girls. She is super thoughtful, smart, and a loyal friend. Some of my favorite memories with her are helping her narrow down her choices when she is being super (SUUPPERR) indecisive, going on a picnic, her 21st bday at Napa Flats, making many girls nights in crafts during the pandemic, and playing Marco Polo together.

Wonjae Kim

Groomsman

I met Wonjae when I was in 3rd or 4th grade at church and we have been friends since then. We stayed friends all this time, even though he moved churches in high school, moved to Michigan for college, and moved to Korea to pursue his entrepreneurial goals. My favorite memories with him include visiting him in Michigan for his graduation, going to NRB together in Korea, and some nights that we cannot remember fully. I can always count on Wonjae to lighten the mood in any situation and to know about designer brands that I’ve never heard of.
