We both swiped right and bonded over our love of the outdoors and true crime podcasts. After a week of chatting online, we decided to meet at a brewery we both loved. Keinan beat me there which both impressed and terrified me. I wanted to establish the high ground, but he beat me to it. I'm still bitter. (Keinan says it's always best to have the high ground...) He instantly won me over with his adorable smile and a big hug. We chatted and chatted and chatted (If you know Keinan, you know.) It was like talking to an old friend, and we never looked back!
On a sunny weekend in July, we headed to a favorite campsite in Paradise Valley for a little R&R. We decided on a whim to head to Yellowstone National Park(Kat's happy place) for a day trip on Saturday to sight see and enjoy some quality time together. We first headed out towards Lamar Valley and spotted a black wolf. Feeling incredibly excited, we decided to continue up Dunraven Pass where we saw a small black bear right off the side of the road. We were floored! Two rare animal sightings in the middle of a hot Summer day was nearly unheard of. We found the crowds at Canyon Village and made a pit stop to wait out a traffic jam. After serious debate, Keinan was DETERMINED to see Yellowstone Lake, and I reluctantly agreed. Half way through Hayden Valley, Kat spotted two more black bears. What a day it had been already! We finally made it to Yellowstone Lake, and Keinan parked in our favorite lunch spot by the lake. We set up for lunch only to be interrupted by mother nature herself. We ate our lunch in the car to the sound of raindrops before Keinan got out to assess the weather. He convinced me to get out of the car so I could see if we should stay longer or wait out the weather elsewhere. I was looking out over the lake when I heard Keinan say "Kat". I turned around and saw him down on one knee, ring in hand. I said YES!
