It all started with a swipe. She made the first move and talked about our bucket lists to break the ice. For me, it was diving with great whites in South Africa and hiking Machu Picchu. For her it was catching the northern lights in Finland and seeing penguins in the wild. We quickly connected over our mutual desire to travel and take on new experiences. Following two long weeks of messaging (she went to Europe with her mom a few days after matching) we planned to meet. I chose Rue B, a jazz bar in the city, to have a slightly more eventful first date than normal. After a few sets and drinks, we decided to move to Pouring Ribbons – a bar she’s always wanted to try. We spent a few more hours there talking over cocktails before grabbing a late night ramen and going our separate ways.
