Wedding Party

Get to know the friends and family walking us down the aisle.

Kat McConnell

Bride

Liz Whetstone

Bridesmaid

I’m a craft-loving MBA student who will always accept your invitation to go out for street tacos or a good old fashioned burger. I moved to Denver from California in 2017 and I’ve enjoyed showing Kat and Josh some of the remarkable places Colorado has to offer. During Kat’s first visit to Denver, we went to the Celestial Seasonings headquarters for a tea-riffic tour! Cheers to 7 years of friendship and many more.

Danielle Francisco

Bridesmaid

I'm Danielle & I met Kat in 2017 at Trader Joe's. From the moment I met Kat I felt so comfortable, she has always been interested in learning about who I am. Kat is a one of a kind friend(who I plan to keep for life) & a wonderful woman that my family adores & enjoys being around. About me; I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with my BA in Business Management, am extremely passionate about the environment & take pride living sustainably. In my opinion, life is all about meeting people and experiencing different environments that help me grow. The McConnell family has been so warm and loving towards me & for that I’m so grateful. Josh is an amazing man & I know Kat will be treated the way she deserves. Seeing these two beautiful individuals coming together is such a wonderful thing.

Shannon Ward

Bridesmaid

Fast facts: I am a 27 year old, Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp, cheese-loving vegetarian whose music taste is all over the place. I have 3 pets - a dog, a snake, and a bearded dragon. I work for a nonprofit organization, have a Master’s in Social work & I have an ISFJ personality. Kat & I met in middle school & have been friends since 2004 (GROSS!). Through all the years and distance between us, Kat & I have remained close, & although we don’t talk on the phone for literally HOURS like we used to when we were 13, we try our best to communicate as often as possible. I feel so honored to be a part of Kat’s bridal party, especially since she was a part of mine when I got married in June 2016, & it was very important that she share my day! I am so excited to share in this experience with her!

Candace Maguregui

Bridesmaid

I was constantly dragged to everything Josh was involved in, recitals, band events, field show comps, to name a few. Josh didn’t appreciate the fact that I enjoyed being around his friends. I was the annoying little sister. They didn’t seem to mind me hanging around. His band teacher and I would talk about our American Girl dolls. The first thing I said to Kat after learning Josh had asked for her hand in marriage was “OH my gosh! I finally have a sister!!!” Sometimes Josh and Kat would take me to see school plays or to indulge in frozen yogurt. Sometimes he would be an awesome big brother and take me to the mall. What girl wouldn’t love that?!! I love them both and can’t wait to see how their future will also impact our entire family. Oh, and by the way, I’m the better Maguregui!

Brandon Garcia

Best Man

I’m proud to be able to say that I am the best man to my one of my closest and strongest friends. As Josh’s cousin, we grew up basically attached at the hip. There are very few childhood and teenage memories without him involved. I’ll never forget the mischief we would get into, and frankly I’m surprised we made it out alive ok. I certainly don’t regret waking the neighbors by us blasting classic rock tunes or laughing hysterically at 2 in the morning. I’m truly happy to have had each other growing up and I’m so pleased I get to support him as he enters this lifelong journey with Kat, who I know means the world to him. Oh and yes, I’m the better super smash bros video game player.

Groomsman

Well, here we are. I'm so proud of Josh. I've known him for for thirteen years, through ups and downs only to see him years later marrying the love of his life. I'm very happy to be part of this ceremony for them. I love you Josh and Kat and congratulations!

Justin Maguregui

Groomsman

Josh and I shared a room. He is the oldest of three and I’m the youngest resulting in an eight-year difference. All he ever wanted was a clean room that I could not provide. When he moved out, I rode with him in his car to his next destination. He allowed me to play my music in his convertible for about ten seconds when he changed it and said, “Your music is terrible,” with no appreciation for The Party Rock Anthem. We also enjoyed the same show, Adventure Time. We drove our mom nuts with singing, “Bacon Pancaaaaakes” until she actually made us bacon pancakes. Mom sings that song to this day. I’m glad that he found someone to deal with his idiotic jokes all the time. Thanks, Kat, for making my brother happy and I hope and pray that the two of you have many years together.
