How did we meet?

According to Kat..

We met while working together at Alcoa in the Hot Mill. We kept it strictly professional but Jeff would find himself staying later to help me with lockout tag outs or gauging the Reversing Mill under the terms and conditions that I owed him a beer. Jeff ending up leaving Alcoa to spend more time with his kids and it was Mardi Gras weekend that he cashed in his invite to meet me for a drink at our favorite place, Archie & Clyde’s. Our relationship turned serious in July of 2022 and from then on we have been inseparable.

How did we meet?

According to Jeff…

It all started in the Hot Mill at Alcoa, Kat transferred in from Ingot and filled an empty crew leader spot. During our turnover meetings we found that we had a lot in common but never let anything cross the line. That being said I always found myself staying over when she came in coming up with reasons to “help out.” I took a break from the shift work life for about 6 months and took a job back in construction to get more time with the kiddos and on a weekend off we wound up at Archie’s and Clyde’s for a Mardi Gras celebration. 4 months later we couldn’t get enough of each other and that’s been the theme ever since. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our new combined family.

How Jeff Popped the Question!

The Proposal..

Jeff and I had already been talking about getting married for months before he officially asked me to marry him. Back in March, Jeff told me not to make any plans for April 22nd and I remember looking up that date on the calendar and seeing it was Earth Day and I wrote on my work calendar to not make plans. Fast forward to the morning of the proposal day, Jeff was upset, his original plans had been cancelled due to the weather but that didn’t stop him because we still packed up and headed towards Bloomington, Indiana. Jeff drove us to Cataract Falls, Indiana’s largest waterfall and we walked around checking out the waterfalls because we had never been there before. He finally pulled me in and I could feel him shaking and Jeff got down on one knee and asked me to make it official and marry him and of course I said yes! It was busy that day at the State park but it felt like just us in that moment.
