How we met

Crush at First Sight The first time I met Jansen was at their house back in 2011. I was working for his dad at the time, helping him with his small business. His garage office was next to the kitchen where I would see Jansen make his daily morning cup of Joe. It always made my day as I’ve had the biggest crush on him since the first time I’ve seen him. And even though he was very awkward (or snobby), maybe I was drawn to his mysterious personality. He started playing basketball every Sunday with my brothers and my friends, which played a huge part in bringing our worlds closer together. Jansen was still oblivious about my feelings at the time. We all started hanging out as a group, and whether it’s going camping, watching a movie, eating out, going out of town watching concerts, and hanging out at a friend’s house, we found ourselves seeing each other more often, and enjoying each other’s company. One day, he asked me out to lunch, and as a plus one to his friends’ wedding, and the rest is history!

The Proposal

One Night Ultimate Proposal During the Christmas break, Kat and I were introduced to a game called One Night Ultimate Werewolf by my brother. The game is played with an app on the phone that gives instructions to the players to close and open their eyes. The game became an inspiration for the upcoming surprise. On January 5th, we celebrated Kat’s and her sister’s birthday at their home with friends and family. Kat was eager to play the game again with friends and family. The game began. “Everyone, close your eyes.” As everyone closed their eyes, I quickly placed the ring on the table in front of her. The game continued with each player taking turns opening and closing their eyes as the game instructed them to do so. On Kat’s turn, she opened her eyes and miraculously did not see the ring in front of her then closes her eyes. The game nears the end. “Everyone, wake up!” With everyone opening their eyes, Kat astonishingly did not notice the ring in front of her (again). With help from friends and family, she went into shock as she finally saw the ring on the table. She asked, “is this real?!” as I dropped down to one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes!
