Best Man
Max is a brilliant graphic designer for a small company called Apple, but an even more brilliant friend. He and Devin moved to Atlanta around the same time and met shortly thereafter. Countless brewery trips, concerts, and taco Tuesdays ensued. We consider Atlanta our forever home, but we're not sure we'd be in love with Atlanta to the degree we are if not for Max and Devin's many adventures around town.
Tyler Evans
Man of Honor
Kat's partner in crime. Tyler is Kat's best friend and the only reason we'd ever visit Mississippi. Tyler knows how to guard his energy, but you won't find anyone out there who's more willing to put himself behind his friends. He's the only person we know who would fly out at 5 a.m. and fly back at 11 p.m. that same day just to have a few drinks with us after our engagement. Plus, he's a huge reason this wedding is happening given that Kat was too scared to speak on our first FaceTime, and Tyler filled in the gap.
Alan Hinderleider
Groomsman
Simply put, we don't think there's a universe where Devin survives law school and beginning his practice in the middle of a pandemic without this guy. He's humble, selfless, and caring in the extreme, as well as a hip-hop historian and craft beer guru. Pro-tip at the wedding: ask Alan what he's drinking. Chances are, it's the best thing we got.
Peyton Argote
Matron of Honor
Peyton will be the coolest person on that stage with us. She's got truly impeccable taste in music, which is good because Kat's leaves a lot to be desired (unless you're really into Vitas' The 7th Element). We're not just having her stand with us because she's cool though. Even since sophomore year of college, Peyton has always been a patient, thoughtful, selfless, and caring friend. We both know that if hadn't been for Peyton's guidance and friendship, Kat would never have had the opportunity to even meet Devin, let alone marry him.
Jack Gregory
Groomsman
Brother of the groom. Devin's first teammate. If you need someone for a wild impression, or just someone to get the awkward Gregory family out of their shell (and alcohol is not available), Jack is your guy. While he can be a loud and obnoxious ham, you will not find a more loyal and caring brother and friend. Pro-tip: if you're looking for someone with the college football game of the night on his phone during the reception, seek out Jack.
Hannah Medley
Bridesmaid
Step-sister of the bride in name only. Hannah has given Kat something she thought she'd never have: a younger sister to make fun of and bond with. Even though Kat would like to hide it, as any good older sibling would, Hannah has influenced Kat's life in ways and depths Hannah will never know. In a lot of ways, she has felt like an older sister to Kat. We're sorry you're stuck with having all the grandkids but you're doing a great job so far. Bonus points for actually owning real property.
Zach Goins
Groomsman
Devin's first adult friend. Probably the friend who has had the most profound impact on his life, and frankly the most interesting person that will be at our wedding. Zach's many loves include 70s funk, science, backcountry skiing, and cats. You can probably pick just about any topic of conversation with Zach, and you'll find an attentive and enthusiastic listener, which is only one of the many things we love about him. We probably shouldn't act like you'll have a lot of opportunities to talk to him though because the second that dance floor opens, he's gonna be there until it closes.
Marley Craft
Bridesmaid
If Zach's not the most interesting person at our wedding, then it's Marley. One of the reasons we so cherish our friendship is that it feels like nothing is out of bounds. Marley doesn't have presuppositions and doesn't need things to fit into a box. She's there for it; no matter the situation. That's not only helpful when need an excuse to have fun on a weeknight, it also means that Marley will show up when others wouldn't even pick up the phone (probably because they're asleep). It's easy to love her for her because we know she loves us for us.
Conner Rogers
Groomsman
Devin's second adult friend via a mutual love of John Mayer (Devin should be sorry but is not), and probably the reason that Kat is stuck listening to Steely Dan records at least once a week. At UF, Conner was the Jerry to Devin's George. Someone who was also there to talk sense into Devin while still managing to be funnier at every turn. In addition to the fact that he is an incredible musician and business person, you will not find a wiser, more caring, or quietly funny friend out there.
Emily Curl
Bridesmaid
Kat's first Atlanta friend. Her respite when Erich (her husband) and Devin insist on making them watch Premier League soccer with them. She is truly the kindest and most thoughtful person we know. Even in the midst of big house parties, Emily is the kind of person who will stop to really check in on you (and your pets) to make sure you're having a good time and you're in a good place. She gets bonus points for sharing insider Trader Joe's secrets and always cleaning up after the party.
Dan Clark
Groomsman
Chef, scientist, and roastmaster, Dan is one of the most talented and versatile people we know. If not for the fact that Devin insisted on him being one of his groomsmen, he'd probably be officiating our ceremony and making it his personal mission to roast Devin the entire time. While we truly admire Dan's gift for personal insult, the thing we really love about him is his emotional intelligence and care, and we wish we could emphasize the word care when we write it. Dan is one of those friends that puts his time and energy behind his words. Devin still thinks about a croissant Dan woke up before sunrise to bake him during a particularly traumatic time. He's just that kind of dude.
Jenn Hinderleider
Bridesmaid
Much to Devin's dismay, Jenn gets the awards for most emo person and best tattoos at our wedding. When she's not reminding us that we're still young enough for pit tickets at punk shows, Jenn is our fiercest defender and most loyal friend. She may give you the Southern niceties that her parents have so excellently trained her to give, but in reality, Jenn is our friendship-equivalent of a guard dog. We wouldn't trade her for the world's cutest lab. Pro-tip if our wedding entertainment isn't doing anything for you: just approach Jenn, say literally anything about My Chemical Romance, and watch.
