Our number one DFW Rec ;) Anderson's is Corey's family distillery, and you won't find better cocktails in the metroplex. With everything distilled in-house, by Corey herself, you can grab a lovely bite to eat from their scratch-made kitchen and enjoy the Texas heat with the spacious patio. (This message was written entirely by Kat, and she's not getting sponsored to write this *BLINKBLINK*)
Our favorite brewery in the DFW metroplex! They do bingo on Thursdays, and it's one of our favorite easy date nights. They also brew incredible beer - Kat loves their Stouts, and Corey loves their IPAs.
The BEST Indian food in DFW. This is our number one DoorDash order, and we've turned so many friends onto it. Our favorites are the Saag Paneer, Lamb Rogan Josh, Lahasuni Gobi, Dal Makhani, and the Chicken Tikka Kabab. You won't regret visiting, but enter at your own risk as Sigrees is a gateway drug.
You've never had Venezuelan food like this before. Kat & Corey randomly decided to try this place after grabbing coffee next door and deciding we'd rather try somewhere new than get a normal breakfast taco. Todo really blew our socks off, from the one waitress who spoke English, to the additional menu they provided with photos, we knew we were in the right place. We've never ordered anything bad here, and love their shredded beef empanadas, tequenos, Mondongo, Patacon Mixto Asada, and their Cachapas. You truly can't go wrong here - they make their juice in-house and are BYOB, so grab some bubbly and make a brunch out of it.
As our curiosity grew when we moved to Addison, we kept looking for unique local places for a date night. Pane Vino overdelivers on value for two and continues to wow us with its seasonal dishes. They may or may not be run by the mob, but having a dinner here is the closest we've found to our nights out in Italy.
For a while last Summer, Kat was on the search for the perfect Matcha in DFW. Despite not loving Matcha, Corey happily joined her in visiting a new coffee shop every Sunday morning. When we stopped by Vieti, we knew we had found our new go-to coffee spot. Vieti specializes in Phin-drip coffee, and they hand-whisk their matcha. Their syrups are made in-house with real fruits, making them absolutely delicious. They have excellent-quality pastries from a different supplier from every other coffee shop in DFW, and they make incredible Banh Mi. Kat recommends the Blueberry Matcha, and Corey recommends the Vieti Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk.
If you know us, you know we don't love large chain restaurants. Despite Cane Rosso being a Texas-based chain, we do think this is the best pizza in the metroplex. There's a sourdough-like taste to their dough that's addicting, and they use a wood-fired oven. This makes for the perfect pillowy crust to their true Italian-style pizza. We're obsessed with the Prosciutto & Arugula white pie, and get the garlic bread too - it's incredible.
As she clings to the idea of being a true 'New Yorker,' Kat has very high expectations of bagels. She makes some incredible ones, and doesn't love most bagel shops. Sclafani's is the best bagel in Dallas. They deliver on taste, have the best Jalapeno Cheddar Cream Cheese, and make mean bagel sandwiches IT'S THE BETTER BAGEL IN DALLAS GUY FEIRI YOU F###### HACK
Corey spent some time living across the street from El Rincon before we met. However, you can't beat a Mexican food place with $5 margaritas. Be careful, though, as El Rincon's margs are STRONG and three could be very dangerous!
Infinitely better than the Halal Guys - TRUST. Their lemon pepper wings are also fire. Open really late, so perfect for late-night snacks!
Discovered via a friend noting how the line was outside the door on a Sunday morning, Soulful Street Bites is soul food to its core. Their sides are mouthwatering, wings are some of the best in the game, and it all tastes right out of Louisiana. Do not expect to get everything you order. Sometimes they just give you what you need.
If for some reason you need help and don't want to acknowledge it, this is our favorite board game store. If you want to pretend you are in a nature documentary, they host Magic the Gathering tournaments regularly.
