Katherine and Chris unofficially met back in 2019 at Mark's Birthday. They then saw each other again at Keriann and Mark's engagement party, but they were both too quiet and shy to say something to one another. Fast forward 7 months, Katherine was showing her two roommates Chris's Facebook profile, when one of them liked Chris's profile picture from 2007 of Ronald McDonald bench pressing. This sparked a conversation between the two, which then led to Chris driving an hour out to East Quogue at midnight to meet up with Katherine. They then spent the next 4.5 hours driving around the South Shore of Long Island, they were too busy talking and listening to music to realize that they ended up in Sag Harbor. Chris then dropped Katherine off and was heading back home as the sun was rising. It is safe to say that their first official time meeting was a success and their sleepless night was worth it. But it didn't end there. Katherine was heading back to Rockville Centre for the weekend, and her and Chris were planning to meet back up. Katherine and Chris were keeping things on the down low, so Katherine would have to sneak out of her house and hope Keriann wouldn't ask where she was going. All while this was going on, Keriann and Mark had mentioned to Katherine that she should talk to Mark's co worker, Chris....little did they know, Katherine and Chris were already talking. Over the next few weeks, Chris would spend his days off driving out to East Quogue to hang out with Katherine. They quickly realized they had something special and decided to tell others about their relationship. To their surprise, Keriann and Mark already had an idea that Katherine and Chris were meeting up because one of Mark's friends saw the two of them together. Katherine and Chris spent their Covid summer together, ordering out food, eating ice cream and learning to play tennis. Over the next few years, Katherine and Chris would go on vacation together, eat lots of dessert and talk about their future. They had one vacation booked for July of 2022, the firehouse cruise to Bermuda. Fast forward to July 10th 2022, Chris, Katherine, the Grandazza Family and RVC fire department set sail to Bermuda. Chris had mentioned to Katherine that he found a nice restaurant to go to while in Bermuda, and had made a reservation for the the two of them and Keriann and Mark to go. Katherine didn't think anything of this reservation, since Chris is the planner in the relationship. On July 14th, they spent the day at the pink sand beach and then returned back to the boat to get ready to take the ferry over to Hamilton for their dinner reservation. They arrived to their dinner reservation about an hour early, so the four of them just hung out and grabbed drinks at the bar. Chris knew that Katherine would eventually ask to take a picture with him by the water. Chris kept putting off the picture, as he was waiting for the sun to begin to set. Chris finally agreed to take a picture, and as they were about to pose, Chris got down on one knee and asked Katherine, "Will You Marry Me?", and with no hesitation Katherine said "Yes!".
