An event eleven years in the making! For our wedding reception, we want to recreate the atmosphere of how we first met: a casual vibe with food, drinks, and good times. See you there!

We met each other through mutual friends at a local bar in Arcadia, CA. While Kat was living in Japan, Nate befriended her high school and college buddies. In September 2011, Kat moved back to America. Later that week, she decided to grab some drinks at Bar Louie with her friends. Kat walked in, and Nate was starstruck.

For our tenth anniversary, Nate wanted to take Kat on a trip down Memory Lane. So, he did what any theatre tech would do and built a time machine. He edited videos of the Past and the Future and used stage lighting to set the scene. At midnight, we opened our bedroom door and stepped into the "time machine." When it was time to return to the Present, we walked over to a corner of the room. The stage lights washed the room in blue and a circle of string lights appeared around us. That's when Nate got down on one knee and popped the question.

We had a small civil ceremony with our immediate family on January 9. A big, fancy ceremony was never our style. We'd much rather have a fun reception and a great time celebrating with our friends and family instead.
