Cameron - We met during my first day in Robotics Club at south. At the time, I thought Katie was cool but I had no idea how important she would be to me. Kaitlyn - The first time I saw Cameron it was in the interest meeting for robotics in 2016 (I think). I didn't pay him much attention at that time and all I knew about it him was that his dad was a Software Engineer. My dad was excited about that. We didn't talk much during his freshmen year in robots. We were on different teams and had little reason to talk. I talked and joked around with his dad more at that time. During the trip to Worlds in April (his team was going), I got in his car to avoid confrontation with a friend because I knew Toad (his dad). From there we talked on and off over the summer.

Kaitlyn - After Worlds, we had a group chat Cameron, Dylan, and I. We talked and joked over text message. Often times it was just me and Cameron talking because Dylan was always sleeping. Cameron and I started playing pool over text with just each other. Every so often I would try to have an actual conversation but he gave very short responses and didn't seem interested in talking. Eventually I wanted to see if he would talk to me first so I made an effort not to text him and our conversations ended for a while.

Kaitlyn - Very simple answer. We had a class together. We started talking again and it became almost every night. And after some debating, I decided that I really liked Cameron. I had a crush on him. So I told my friends. One friend (Arturo) decided he was going to hint at it to Cameron and see if he could figure out if Cameron liked me too. So at the homecoming football game, which we all went to, Arturo (not very discreetly) got us to sit next to each other and asked Cameron if he would be interested in dancing with me at homecoming.

Kaitlyn - Homecoming was October 21st 2017. I went with my friend Anna. When we got there all the robotics kids found each other and had a great time dancing all together. Cameron did not know how I felt at this time. But we did seem close since we talked more often. We took pictures together in groups. My friends knew about my crush and pushed Cameron and I to stand together in the pictures. It did not work though because I was nervous.

Kaitlyn - The next day, I was debating telling Cameron how I felt about him. So what did I do? The only clearly logical thing for a freshmen in high school to do, I put a poll on snapchat. I asked them if I should tell the person I liked how I felt. We all know how the poll would and did turn out, in his favor. I was also pretty sure I knew what Cameron had voted because I could see the updated poll and who had viewed the poll. There was a yes vote after Cameron viewed it. So I was resolved to tell him. Being the clever person I am, I kept it from simple. I texted him "I like you." His response? "What way do you mean" So I had to be more clear apparently and texted "Like crush kinda way lol".

Kaitlyn - The next night Cameron texted me and said "Hey so as far as your crush goes and this is up to you but I was thinking if you wanted I guess we could hang out outside of school sometimes." I smiled so much and responded with "lol ok".

Kaitlyn - In the morning (7:47 am), before school, three days after I told him I liked him, I get this message "Hey so I was thinking last night and I realized I like you too" followed by (for clarification) ""In the crush kinda way" to quote a friend". Here we can see very early signs of his sarcasm. And again I smiled.

Cameron - Our first date started with my dad driving Katie and I to subway for dinner, a very *romantic* start to our relationship. We had our subs and then were dropped off at Leitersburg Cinemas to watch Thor: Ragnarok in auditorium 2. Going into the date, I was nervous, but by the end of the night, I realized that I had found someone to be truly comfortable with. Kaitlyn - Cameron offered to spend some time outside of school with because of my crush and we decided to go to a movie. I remember he had to ask my dad if he could take me on a date. Since we both like Marvel we went to see Thor. We got Subway beforehand with his dad and sister. After the movie, his dad asked us if we wanted ice cream and we decided not to get any. I think it was because for me the idea of getting ice cream came out of nowhere. I didn't know then that his family got ice cream most weekends.
