The official dress code is Cocktail Attire. The Inn at Longshore does not have a formal dress code, however, men should wear a jacket, tie, and dress shoes, while women should wear a dress or ensemble that is suitable for semi-formal occasions. Black Tie (tuxedos for men and gowns for women) is also appropriate, but not required. For both men and women, at no time are denim (jeans), shorts, t-shirts, tube tops, flip flops, sneakers, or athletic shoes permitted.
We love your kids, and we know you do too, but we want this to be a night off for you. We are required to abide by the current covid-19 gathering limits, and in order to ensure that as many of our family and friends as possible are able to attend, we respectfully ask that you not bring children to the ceremony or reception. If this policy interferes with your ability to attend, please reach out to us and we will do our best to make appropriate arrangements.
For those traveling from out of state, we recommend getting tested in your home state prior to traveling so that you can enjoy the weekend. However, there are several sites near our hotel in Norwalk that offer rapid tests. The health and safety of our guests is our top priority. In the interest of protecting the ones we love, vaccines and testing are the best way to ensure that everyone can celebrate with us safely. Not only is this our policy, but it is the law for gatherings in the state of Connecticut and Fairfield County, and our venues are required to abide by those policies. Guests who have received both doses of the Moderna/Pfizer or the J&J vaccine on or before May 2nd do not need to take a test if they have their vaccine record card. Rapid tests are free and available in all states, and we respectfully ask that those who are not willing to be tested please stay home. If you are attending and have been vaccinated, please let us know so we can include that information for contact tracing.
While we do not offer transport to the ceremony, a trolley will make several trips back and forth to transport guests from the church to reception. Lyft and Uber are also available in Westport.
Both Saugatuck Church and The Inn at Longshore have ample parking for guests who are driving. Parking for the church is located in the rear of the building. The Inn at Longshore has two parking lots: one in front of the building to the right upon entering (near the golf pro shop), and one lower lot beyond the main lot for overflow.
If your formal invitation is addressed to you "and guest", then you are welcome to bring a plus one. However, if your invitation is addressed only to you, we ask that you please respect our numbers and not bring any additional guests.
