It began with a fierce bowling competition. One winner. One loser. Little did they know that this night would forever change their lives. We “met” in college in 2017 at a brother-sister hall dorm event. A night of bowling and pizza. Hunter won; Madison got second. That’s all we need to say about that… And they never saw each other again. Until… Six years later, in October 2023, Madison swiped right on Hunter’s Hinge profile and right into his heart. *aww* From there, we started going on dates. From plane-spotting at the airport to playing disc golf to chasing the northern lights, our love for one another began to blossom, and in February 2024, Hunter finally got the guts to ask Madison to be his girlfriend, officially. Over the next year and a half, we went on many adventures together with some highlights being hiking at Indiana Dunes National Park, weekend fishing at Lake Kabetogama, exploring Hunter’s hometown in Iowa, and visiting the model railroad museum in St. Paul where Hunter first knew that Madison was the one. Fast forward. July 26, 2025. It was VERY hot and humid. Hunter had plans to take Madison to a “choir concert” that evening and decided to do some plane-spotting beforehand. As we stood to watch a Delta A350 depart for Amsterdam, Hunter decided that he needed to grab his camera. Much to Madison’s surprise, he handed the camera bag to her! She took out the camera and opened the back and inside was a very sparkly diamond ring. Hunter knelt down on one knee and said a lot of very nice words that Madison has no memory of, and she said YES!! The rest of the night was spent at the St. Paul water lantern festival celebrating our love and the start of this new and exciting chapter!
