Salt Lake City was the host of the 2002 Winter Olympics. They hosted events throughout many of the different resorts and buildings throughout the city. The Olympic center is now a free museum and training center for future Olympians. This would probably be our top must see recommendation for the area, its very fun with many activities.
Park City Resort has a number of activities to do on the resort including: steel mountain coaster, alpine slide, 2 different zipline variations, a rope climbing course, mountain biking, golf, mini golf, disc golf, hiking and many other activities. We do receive a discount on all the Park City activities so if interested talk to us first! Mountain Biking at Park City and Deer Valley is not for the faint of heart even the most beginner trains can be intense for a new rider so consider taking a class.
There is incredible hiking in the Park City and Salt Lake area. Many trails are just a mile or 2 long and can get you so some incredible places. I recommend using the all trails website or app.
If you want to really to get an appreciation for the magnitude of these mountains there's no place better to do that than Snowbird Resort. For a small price you can ride the tram to the top of the mountain and enjoy some incredible views of the mountain and valley. Even as late into the spring as our wedding is they will still be skiing the weekend of our wedding at Snowbird too so if you want to give skiing a try in the west you can bring your gear or rent/demo some gear for the day. Located about 40 min. away from Park City.
If you are a climber you undoubtedly know that Salt Lake is a mecca. If you've never tried it before there are many Momentum Climbing gyms throughout that city that can get you started and its a super fun way to spend a few hours.
Exploring Main Street is almost inevitable, the site of the Sundance International Film Festival is quiet the spectacle. There are incredible restaurants, breweries, distilleries, theaters, art galleries, retails stores, and a number of unique stores and places. Just get lost exploring the streets your bound to have a good time. Just about everywhere has good live music too.
One of our favorite restaurants in the area! Great food and good beers!
A great distillery serving great cocktails and food! It can get crowded, so go early if you can!
One of the older Saloons in the area, very popular! They are known for their burgers
