FAQs

More to come as we finalize wedding details!
Question

How can I prepare?

Answer

Please be aware our ceremony and reception will be held at 11,240ft. We recommend staying in the Denver Metro area (below 7,000 feet) the first day to give your body time to adjust. Avoid strenuous exercise and consumption of alcohol/caffeine on your first day. Prioritize hydrating your body by drinking lots of water and electrolytes. We also highly recommend sunscreen. At altitude, there's less protection from the sun and you can burn quickly!

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

We adore all the little ones in our lives and are thrilled to celebrate with them in spirit! However, due to venue restrictions and limitations we are keeping our special day as an adult-only occasion, aside from the children who are part of the wedding party. We hope this allows you to relax and enjoy the festivities without worry. Children are allowed at the resort. Please consider arranging for childcare during the hours of the ceremony and reception (Approximately 6 hours), or perhaps turning this into a fun weekend getaway for yourself. Thank you for your understanding and support—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately due to venue guest limits we cannot allow for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Plus ones are therefore by invitation only and we ask other guests to please not bring a plus one. Thank you so much for understanding!

Question

How do I get around Winter Park?

Answer

The Lift is a FREE transit system that serves Winter Park, Fraser & Granby. Summer hours: 7:30 am - 2:30 am. There is very limited Lyft or Uber in Winter Park.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather in Winter Park in August is mildly warm with a gentle breeze, with an average high of 75°F and low of 46°F. We will also be on top of the mountain (11,200ft), so expect it to be windy! We highly encourage bringing an extra layer for the evening when the temperature cools.

Question

How do we get to the ceremony/reception site?

Answer

A Gondola ticket will be provided to each guest. It’s not your classic chairlift, it is an enclosed Gondola, which can be slowed down for load-up and unloading. Guests will take a scenic Gondola ride up to Sunspot Lodge. Guests will then be directed to shuttles parked at the Sunspot lodge. A 7-minute shuttle ride will take you up to Lunch Rock which is the ceremony and reception space. All guests will be shuttled back down to resort grounds following the reception.
