Our Story

It’s hard to imagine anyone reading this doesn’t already know our story, but here we go. We met in high school when we were just 16. I don’t think either of us would have believed that the person we met at 16 would end up being the one, but here we are almost ten years later. Our first date was in 2016, the movies to see Suicide Squad. Jared came to pick me up at my house, and I remember how nervous I was, and then I quickly realized how nervous he was. He walked up to the front door and tried to shake my hand. I thought, “Oh great, I am getting friend zoned” I was very quickly proven wrong. We just kept hanging out again and again, and somehow we never got tired of each other. A few months turned into a few years and then the rest of high school together. We spent all of our school dances side by side, watched every one of each other's softball and football games, and eventually faced a year of long distance while Jared went off to college and I finished my senior year. Then came college together at the University of Utah: fraternity and sorority formals, Utah football games, plenty of late nights and fraternity parties, and so many amazing memories with our friends. We both graduated from the business school the same year (with Kassidy finishing six months early, not that anyone’s keeping track). We moved into our first place in Salt Lake, started our first real jobs, and got our crazy golden retriever puppy, Brodie, in the middle of winter with no yard in downtown Salt Lake. (That was...quite the adventure.) Life kept moving, and we kept choosing each other. We moved back home to Boise, ending up just down the street from both of our families, and packed in so many amazing travels and memories along the way. Jared proposed on August 11th in Newport, Rhode Island, a location that might seem random but one we always dreamed of visiting. After a perfect day exploring the historic mansions along the coastline and eating incredible seafood, we drove out to Goat Island where Jared proposed in front of a lighthouse with sailboats drifting by. It was truly beautiful. We then spent the next five days in NYC celebrating just the two of us, a trip we will never forget. We are so incredibly excited for this next chapter of life together. We have known for a long time that it would always be us, and we cannot wait to get married next summer surrounded by all of our favorite people in the world!
