Our relationship began back in 2021 when I met Patrick. To say our meeting was unexpected is an understatement—it happened in an unusual and sad circumstance. My good friend at the time had lost her cousin, Matthew Meadows, who, in turn, was great friends with Pat. Both of them got to know each other well during a course they took in the army. I recall my first memory of my now-husband-to-be during the celebration of life for Matthew. I had just arrived, and as I walked through, greeting everyone, I passed by the kitchen. At the table, sitting, eating, and observing, my eye caught a glimpse of a lone soldier. As I carried on, not thinking much of that brief moment, Pat went on to make it his life mission to connect with me. It wasn’t until the third attempt that I finally said yes to our first date in 2023—nearly two years after we first met! With lots of praying and God’s blessing, I then moved forward with this now-beautiful relationship. The following day, as we drove to the luncheon for the funeral, my friend made a comment that I will never forget. She said, and I quote, “I have a feeling you’re going to meet your husband here.” I was floored that she’d made this comment at a time like that. Little did I know, my friend was right. Because of this, Pat sometimes refers to me and our relationship as “my favorite coincidence.” But we now both know it was no coincidence, but God’s beautiful plan. Pat and I have put everything we have into this two-year long-distance relationship. We’ve said lots of “see you laters,” plenty of “I miss you’s,” and tons of “I can’t wait to see you!” followed by “only three or two more days till I see you!” While the “see you laters” and “I’ll miss you’s” won’t stop, they now ring a little sweeter and mean so much more. We are so excited to be closing the gap of a long-distance relationship and celebrate this huge milestone and the unity that has been in the works for quite some time. We feel blessed to have the opportunity to share and celebrate this moment with all of our loved ones. We can’t wait to see y’all there! With love, The soon-to-be Biscocho’s
