How did we meet?

On September 22nd, 2023 (Mindy's birthday) walking home from school and the gym our paths crossed when Dylan stumbled in front of me down a steep loose pebble filled path. I then exclaimed " I know right, that hill is the worst!" We talked for almost an hour in the parking lot of our apartment complex before I invited him to our crepe night on September 24th (Erin's Birthday). Dylan got my number and we became good friends. It wasn't until months later that we went for an unlikely lunch (not date) kidnapping. After Thanksgiving break of 2023 we did trade deals and found any little excuse to see each other and Dylan asked me to go on a painting date with him on December 8th. The rest was history!

How did Dylan propose?

Answer

It was November 25th of 2024. Dylan kidnapped me this time and brought me down to St. George for the weekend and Dylan and I decided to recreate a date that we had done nearly one year earlier in which we went to Angelicas Mexican restaurant (there is art on the walls and even in the bathroom sink) and then to Snow Canyon State park where we had our first kiss on a bench back in December of 2023! Dylan tricked me and made me think that we were headed to the spot of our first kiss and I had the inkling that he would propose there... he tricked me saying that he thought they had moved it and that if around the next bend there was no bench that we should head back. We turned the bend and there was nothing. I was so shocked! Then when we were almost all the way back to the car Dylan led me off the trail and after a little bit of walking I saw the lights in the distance. I asked Dylan if we had found "the bench" and he said that we had. He then asked me to marry him and I was so excited I kissed him before even thinking to answer.

What are our plans?

Answer

We are planning on working the summer up in McCall Idaho. I will work at the country club that I did in the Summer of 2023 and Dylan is hoping to secure a Pharmacy Tech position. We then will continue school at SUU studying. Dylan is getting a bachelors in Chemistry and doing the prerequisites for pharmacy school. I am studying Communications and Graphic Design. Both of us have minors in Spanish. We both served missions in South America. I served in Santa Cruz Bolivia, and Dylan served in Guayaquil Ecuador.
