Hannah's Version: Adam & I met on September 23, 2018 at Lindsey's apartment. My mom & I were in town so Lindsey had a little Happy Hour at her place and when Huck came in, along came his best friend, Adam. I don't think either of us were single at the time, so there wasn't an immediate interest, but we quickly created a friendship and I would always look forward to seeing him when I would come visit Lindsey. Adam's Version: We first met in 2018 while Hannah was in town visiting Lindsey (Matron of Honor). I had gone over to Lindsey’s apartment for happy hour with her and a few friends. Hannah was immediately smitten with me, obviously. But we were both seeing other people at the time, a friendship started to blossom that day though.
Hannah's Version: Fast forward to the beginning of 2022. In Huck's words, he told Lindsey "not to meddle," but when Lindsey knew Adam didn't have a date for their friend's upcoming wedding she quickly took it as an opportunity to plant the seed and get him to invite me. I still have the text from Adam that he sent me (see below) and I quickly said yes! A HUGE shout out to Corey + Lindsey Reynolds for letting Adam bring a stranger to their wedding in Silverton, CO and making this love story possible. What I thought would be just a fun weekend with friends in the mountains, quickly turned into so much more. As soon as we got there, I knew there were some sparks starting to fly and we had the best weekend together. My mom jokingly texted me during the trip and said "Are you falling in love?" and I immediately responded "Yes." A few weeks later Adam visited me in Chicago for the first time. We spent a rainy weekend together playing cards, going to happy hours and introducing him to my friends. After that weekend, I was hooked. I knew this was a forever thing. The text: "Hannah, this Adam. You may remember me, tall, dark, handsome, charming, funny, etc. I would like to formally invite you to be my date for a wedding in beautiful silverton Colorado. No, Lindsey is not forcing this. And if she says she is she's a liar." Adam's Version: Our friends Corey and Lindsey were getting married in Silverton, CO. A picturesque mountain town in southwest Colorado. One evening Lindsey (Matron of Honor) and I were having dinner, and she asked if I was going to bring anyone to the wedding. I said no because I wasn’t seriously seeing anyone, and I didn’t want to ask someone to drive 6 hours to a wedding, all while I was busy with groomsmen activities all weekend. She suggested that I ask Hannah to go. Then I’ll have a date, and she can hang out with her best friend all weekend. It seemed like a great idea. So, I texted Hannah, asked if she wanted to fly from Chicago to Denver, then get in a car and drive 6-hours to Silverton. She agreed and the rest is history!
Hannah's Version: We had been talking about wanting to do a weekend trip to Bozeman for a while, so we looked at our calendars and found a weekend in August that would work. What I didn't know about was all the planning already going on behind the scenes. We flew into Bozeman the two of us, got to our beautiful & massive Airbnb that I thought was a friend of a friend giving us a good deal, and had a great Thursday night exploring the town. On Thursday night at dinner, we got on the topic of weddings and talked all about what we would want one day. Little did I know there was a ring back at the house and the next morning it would become a reality. We woke up to the most perfect weather on August 16th, 2024 and drove to Paradise Valley for a horseback ride. This was something I had told Adam I'd like to do on this trip, even though he had been planning to propose during a horseback ride all along. Through the beginning of the ride, I was almost speechless just taking in the views and feeling so content, having no idea what was about to come. Half way through the ride, our guide had us hop off to "stretch our legs." Adam & I were admiring our surroundings when he looked at me and asked if I was happy. I nodded yes and then he told me he had something for me and to close my eyes. When I opened them, he was on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was truly the best moment of my life and I start to cry every time I think about it. When we got back into Bozeman, the surprises continued with a few of our best friends coming into town to celebrate with us. Shout out to Lindsey, Huck, and Hunter! The rest of the weekend was filled with endless celebrations and so much love. Bozeman will forever hold a very special place in my heart. Adam's Version: It all started with a lie. I lied to Hannah and said I had a client happy hour one afternoon, when in reality Lindsey and I were going to a jeweler in Cherry Creek to look at rings! After a couple of drinks and some discussions about different options, we found the perfect one! I headed back home and told Hannah I had a great time with my clients. We then set off for Europe where I subtly dropped a couple of questions about rings, making it seem as though I hadn’t even thought about it. This set the 2nd stage of the lie in motion. When we returned from Europe, we had a trip to Bozeman planned for a few weeks later. Everything about this trip was lie, haha. On the second day of our trip, we went on a private horseback ride through paradise valley, where halfway through the trip we got off our horses to “stretch our legs”. We got off the horses, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Shoutout to our guide, Tim, who helped set this all up. We went back to town to celebrate, where our best friends in the world, Lindsey, Huck and Hunter were waiting to surprise her. We then spent the rest of the weekend celebrating our engagement with our best friends, in one of the most incredible places in the country.
