Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kasia Wojnar and Nick Sklar
There are SO many fun things to do here in Tahoe: mellow walks, bike riding, hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, beaching and more! We've listed a few of our favorites below, but feel free to reach out if you need any more recommendations for something else to do. We hope you get to enjoy some time doing activities that bring you joy, in a place we love so much.

Walk or Bike along the Truckee River

All along the Truckee River (from Tahoe City to Olympic Valley, in Truckee, and along the West Shore of the Lake (from Tahoe City to Meeks Bay) is a relatively flat paved path you can use for walks, runs, or bike rides. If you'd like to rent a bike, Truckee River Bikes is the place.

Sandwich from West Shore Market and picnic on the beach!

1780 W. Lake Blvd, Tahoe City, 96145

We love grabbing sandwiches and a drink from West Shore Market, then crossing the street to sit on the beach to eat lunch and enjoy the sunshine. Great at any time, but especially after an activity. These are large sandwiches! They also have coffee and pastries.

Visit Emerald Bay State Park

Emerald Bay, CA 96150

One of the most iconic views around Lake Tahoe. The drive is beautiful to get there and the vistas once there are spectacular. Feeling adventurous? Walk down to Emerald Bay, go for a dip, walk along the Rubicon Trail (out and back as far as you like), or hike up to Eagle Falls and Eagle Lake. The options are endless.

Enjoy the Beach at Ed Z'berg Sugar Pine Point State Park

7360 West Lake Boulevard, Tahoma, CA 96142

Sugar Point Point State Park has lovely mellow walks (various lengths) through the forest that end with really nice soft sand beaches. Perfect if you're looking to enjoy the sun and the beach!

Hike Five Lakes Trail

Five Lakes Trail, Alpine Meadows, CA 96146

Kasia's FAVORITE hike. Does this almost every week, if not multiple times a week all summer long. Bring a swimsuit (or don't!) and jump into the last lake for a refreshing dip.

Mountain Biking

There are tons of mountain biking trails all around Tahoe for all skill levels. If you need to rent a bike, Olympic Bike Shop in Tahoe City is a good starting place. For trail recommendations, call Nick.
