Two Jews, no Christmas plans, and a dating app, that's how our epic love story began in 2022. We met the way all great, modern romances begin: on Hinge, of course. After two weeks of intensely witty banter (Lauren insists her jokes and track IDs were better), we leveled up and met IRL for a legendary first date involving tequila and tacos. Lauren ordered way too many tacos, and AJ didn't judge her. The rest, as they say, is history. The Perfectly Balanced Equation If our relationship were a car, Lauren is the accelerator—loud, impulsive, impatient, and a relentless go-getter. And AJ? He is the breaks—tried, true, calculated, sweet, thoughtful, and unbelievably patient. Where Lauren wants to do all the things right now, AJ reminds her to breathe, plan, and enjoy the journey. He’s the anchor that steadies her ambition, and she’s the spark that encourages him to jump in headfirst. We truly are yin and yang, proving that two people can be fiercely loyal and supportive while having completely different speeds. The Real Love Triangle The true turning point arrived on Date #2: the moment AJ met Ralphie, our 3-year-old Cavapoo. We're still not entirely sure who loved who more, AJ loves Ralphie's goatie, Ralphie loves AJ's lap, but it was instantly clear that the three of us were a certified Party of Three. Since then, we've been inseparable peas-in-a-pod, spending weekends hiking questionable trails, experimenting (sometimes successfully) with new recipes, collecting vinyls, and exploring the best of LA—from late-night comedy to underground warehouses to Hollywood Pantages shows. We quickly became each other's biggest fans, the best of friends, and most enthusiastic coaches. AJ taught Lauren how to accurately use the filter knob on the DJ decks and what makes a good TV show, and Lauren taught AJ that there is, in fact, good music outside of dance music and the difference between an onion and a shallot. As two fiercely loyal, ambitious, and creative souls, we constantly push each other to be better. In three years, we’ve tackled new jobs, a constant quest for international travel, and enough trips to see family that we now qualify for frequent flyer status in three separate airlines. We can't wait to make it official and keep dancing through life together!
