Answer

The wedding and reception will be held at Hinckston Run Farm. 1267 Waterfall Drive Johnstown, PA 15906.

Question

Will transportation be provided to/from the hotel and the venue?

Answer

We will have a school bus leaving both hotels. The first pick up stop will be at the Holiday Inn Express (1440 Scalp Avenue), departing the hotel at 2:30pm. The next stop will be at the Holiday Inn Johnstown-Downtown (250 Market St) at 2:45pm to ensure a timely arrival to the venue for our ceremony at 3:30pm. There will be 1 bus trip from the venue back to both hotels at the end of the night. The bus will depart from Hinckston Run Farm around 10pm, stopping at both hotels. If you chose to drive to the venue, plenty of parking is available. Uber is also an option in the area however anticipate limited availability.

Question

Will the ceremony be indoor or outdoor?

Answer

Weather permitting, we would love to have our ceremony outside. The dinner and reception will be indoors, in a climate controlled barn. Our venue does have a beautiful outdoor patio with a fire pit. The bar is outside under a covered patio. Accessible bathroom indoors.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Semi formal. However, please wear whatever you are comfortable in.

Question

What Pittsburgh area wedding traditions can we expect?

Answer

1. A cookie table with various homemade cookies to celebrate the bride and groom. This tradition is thought to have originated around the Great Depression given the expense of traditional wedding cake (don't worry we will still have cake). According to various legends, the more cookies, the more luck for the bride and groom as they start their lives together. 2. The bridal dance. Traditionally Polka music is playing while people put cash into a bag to dance with the bride followed by the guest taking a shot of alcohol. Once you have your dance (and shot), join the other guests by circling around the bride waving a napkin. Once everyone has a chance to dance with the bride they circle around her as the groom attempts to break into the circle stealing the bride away.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children --thank you for understanding!
