Welcome to our wedding website! We can't wait to celebrate our special day with you. We like to give two versions of the story: The short story: By random chance Mitchell and Kasey moved into the same apartment complex in downtown Athens in 2017, and the rest was history... hey neighbor! The better story: We were indeed neighbors, and only had a few brief conversations in passby (maybeee a few snapchat selfies back and forth too). Keep in mind, Mitchell was in his senior year at UGA and Kasey still had half her college experience left! Mitchell honestly thought of Kasey as only a little sister at the time. One of the last days in the fall semester, Kasey was on a “tacky christmas” datenight heading downtown to SilverDollar Bar. She saw Mitchell from afar, standing outside her favorite spot: Sandbar. In passby she said “please save me from my date.” And of course Mitchell took that intentionally, and came right to the rescue. He swept Kasey out of the bar and asked where she wanted to go. Kasey said, without hesitation, (very unlike her normal, indecisive-self) “lets go to 9ds.” You guessed it. 9ds is a bar that features only 90s-2000’s pop music. We danced the night away and then awkwardly had to walk back to the same apartment complex, forgetting we were neighbors. Over the Christmas break, we went on a few dates (after learning our parent’s houses were only 10 minutes from each other). Our first few dates consisted of bowling, coffee and spinach garlic dip at Cafe Intermezzo (talk about some gnarly breath on a first date!), and pizzas at Crust. I guess you could say that they went pretty well, because the rest really was history!
