We had been living around the corner from each other for almost 4 years, but in true San Francisco fashion, we needed the power of the internet to bring us together. We met the night before Thanksgiving in 2017 at the local bar in our neighborhood, without realizing how close we truly lived to one another. Our second date, we went for pizza, which is Kasey's favorite food. Michael happened to lose his phone in an uber on the way to the restaurant, and pretended to play it very cool that he wasn't worried about losing it, but Kasey saw right through it, and helped him find his phone later that night and the next day. Our third date, which is still one of Kasey's favorites, we found ourselves at Locanda eating pasta and drinking gin and celery tonics at the Hide Out. Kasey quickly fell for Michael's kindness, sincerity, and commitment to his passions; and Michael fell for Kasey's charm, curiosity, and love for her friends and family. From there, our relationship quickly blossomed into weekend trips to Monterey, home cooked dinners at our apartments, a trip to London, meeting lots of family and friends, eventually Michael and Kasey moving in together, and Michael formally adopting, Butter, our cat. This story wouldn't be complete without a highlight for Butter, who enjoyed teasing Michael when he first started spending time at the apartment, to loving him endlessly and cuddling with Michael when Kasey travels for work. We got engaged in June 2019 when Michael surprised Kasey with the most romantic beach side proposal in Mexico. 2020 proved to be extremely challenging for all - apart from Covid, we also lost our best friend Butter. We've found some silver linings though - mostly in our new best friend, Reese. Even though we've had to move the wedding to August 2021, we are so excited to have everyone at our wedding.
