How else would you describe inviting a stranger from the internet to your Friendsgiving Dinner as a first date? Well, that’s how our story starts, with an incredibly stupid and hilarious idea that quickly turned into the best decision either of us have ever made. We met on November 18, 2023, around 1 p.m., when Connor showed up at Kasey’s apartment to take her to meet all of his friends and eat questionably prepared food. We had all of 25 minutes on the drive to dinner to come up with our made up backstory of how we met, how long we’d been “dating,” and what Kasey did for a living. We laughed the whole way over, acknowledging that this was probably a bad idea but at the very least it would make for a funny story. And we were partially right, it is a funny story. But it wasn’t a bad idea at all. We spent the entire afternoon glued at the hip, riffing bits off one another and making up new stories about how we met to anyone who would listen. When it was finally time to leave we cackled all the way to the car, barely comprehending how this horrible first date idea ended up being so amazing. Since that day, we’ve not gone more than 48 hours without seeing each other. Our silly little first date bit has turned into forever. No story we made up that day will ever come close to the reality we have found ourselves in. And now, we're ready for our next big bit: our wedding. We're bringing our massive families and our ever-growing social circles together for one day of celebration, dancing, and, disgustingly adorable displays of romance. We cannot wait to see you all and have you apart of this chapter of our lives. See you in May!
