04/19/22 Karylie's Proposal to Aurora: For months I was planning on proposing to her, but couldn't decide how it would be. Played around with a couple of ideas, but the one that sounded best was finding out that she was going to be playing at our favorite brewery, Moonrakers. She kept asking me, and making sure I wasn't going to do it at her show, which I lied and said "ew, no; I would never". I was so stoked that I invited all of our family and friends out to see her play (because DAMN! have you heard this woman sing and play?!) but also wanted to be surrounded by everyone we love to celebrate IMMEDIATELY with us once she said yes. Not knowing what to say once my knee hit the ground during intermission, I grabbed her arm and then just got on my knee. I said "I was going to say so much, but don't know how to put it in words- point being, will you spend your life with me?" After saying a few colorful words she was able to get out a "yes of course!" to which we smiled and laughed and received cheers from the entire audience. The plan had been successful and now I'm the asshole with the greatest woman/person of all time. 05/15/22 Auroras Proposal to Karylie: Let the record show I purchased the ring first... I had originally planned to propose during a Spartan race in Monterey. Two months of planning and she was becoming privy to the plan. I had to pivot and accept that I was wildly out of shape for an endurance race. My Aunt rescues dogs in Texas and sent us a picture of an adorable "Corgi" puppy. We road tripped to Karylie's birth place, Albuquerque, and met our coyote boy, Liam. I affixed a dog tag to the little lad and asked Karylie to make sure her phone number was correct on the tag. It read "Will you marry me?". Maybe it was the exhaustion of a 27 hour car ride or maybe it was the sweet smoke in the air, but she said YES!
One girl is from the West Coast, the other, from the East Coast. So how are they able to meet? All thanks to a little square app. Aurora was planning on moving to Hawaii and staying in California for a few months. A fresh transplant to the West Coast was found by by this California native within 2 weeks. Plans changed quickly. Dating in Citrus Heights had its challenges but Karylie extended her perimeters on the app to find this New Yorker. Aurora was traveling up north to purchase a surf board, and stumbled into her geo zone. After two weeks of late night texts, daily snaps, instagram stalking and talking the two decided to meet face to face. The first encounter was at a local park with light wining and dining on stale pizza. What started with an overnight bag (and a dash of drama) ultimately led to the launch of our wedding site. So thank you for being a part of the journey and celebrating with us today!
