We are getting married !

Will and Karsten first met in EMT training class in Spokane in the summer of 2021. Will noticed Karsten on the very first day, and Karsten noticed that he was late to class. Within the very first week, they were eating lunch with classmates, getting to know everybody. Karsten had recently returned from a semester abroad and still wore a bracelet that read 'Ecuador.' Will asked her about it, and Karsten began to get the hint that he might have noticed her (because when do men comment on jewelry, especially in a crowd). Had she been more observant, she might have caught on to his interest. They began talking and discovered that they lived in the exact same neighborhood, only 2 minutes away from one another. Will cleverly asked to carpool, knowing that this would buy them more time together, and Karsten agreed but had no idea why he was interested in carpooling. When another girl in the class said she lived in the same area and would love to carpool, Karsten thought this sounded fun, but Will quickly denied her request. It was not until this point that Karsten realized he might be interested in getting to know her alone. They did in fact carpool, and Will shortly asked her out on a first date. They got milkshakes and he cooked dinner. Looking back, Karsten and Will both agree that from the moment he pulled up to her house for the first date, their relationship felt natural and comfortable. Karsten went back to California to finish her final semester of school, but the long-distance was short-lived. Will even came to visit for her birthday and got the California tour. When they were both living in Spokane again, they spent 3 years working at the same ER gaining experience to apply to school. After four years of dating, visiting many national parks, hosting lots of game nights, and both feeling confident that they had built a relationship that would last forever, Will proposed. He surprised Karsten by taking her up to Schweitzer mountain in Idaho where they rode the chairlift to the top. As they enjoyed the view, he got down on one knee, and even had a photographer hiding to take photos. Since then, Karsten started an ultrasound tech program in September 2025 and is loving it! Will is very excited to start his physical therapy program at EWU in August 2026 and they are thrilled to be taking their next steps in life together! Their relationship has faced many challenges and lots of periods of waiting, but they are confident that God placed them in each other's lives at the right time. They could not be more excited to get married and celebrate with you as they take the next step in their relationship and start their lives together!
