We have known of each other since we were kids, as we went to the same church for 8 years and we also saw each other in the halls at college. However this day was different, when I set my eyes on her singing a jaw dropping solo at Christmas Eve worship I knew at that exact moment I would be marrying her. After nervously waiting two weeks for her to get back from vacation, I decided to finally ask her out on what was now our first of many dates. That date was the easiest, most natural thing I’ve ever experienced. We hadn’t really talked in person yet the entire time we were together was filled with conversation. We ordered the exact same thing, which I thought was funny, a half order of biscuits and gravy and a water with lemon. After he dropped me off and said goodbye I remember telling my best friend immediately after that I was going to marry Karson- I knew right then in my heart that he is my soulmate and the man God intends for me to marry. Now here we are counting down the days!
We weren’t officially dating yet, but Karson was on vacation with his family and I jokingly told him I’d come for a visit and to meet his family just to see what he’d say, or if he’d be freaked out. He told me absolutely and the plan was set. He planned a full day of surprises and fun things for us to do from the Fountain of Youth to climbing a lighthouse to see the sunset and a candlelit dinner at Raintree. He kept telling me he had a big surprise at the end of the day but with every single activity I had no idea what to expect! The evening ended with a beautiful horse drawn carriage ride through downtown Saint Augustine under a gazillion Christmas lights. As we rode, we approached the Love Tree, an oak tree with a palm growing inside of it. The carriage driver told us “if two people kiss beneath the Love Tree, their love will last forever” of course we took the opportunity to share our first kiss under the Love Tree. I know that our love will last forever, the folklore just adds a little fun to it. The big surprise at the end of the day was to make me his *official* girlfriend and I have been the happiest girl in the world ever since. I have found the one whom my soul loves. Forever.
On a family cruise vacation to the Western Caribbean, I decided this was the perfect time to "pop the question". Finally we arrived at the 3rd port, Roatan, Honduras. Everything was set in place: ring ✓ private bungalow oasis ✓ rose petals and decorations ✓ As she enters the bungalow she looks back to see me on one knee, before I can spit out a word she yells "YES YES ONE HUNDRED TIMES YES!!!" After traveling 1056 nautical miles, 45 minute bus ride, and a 15 minute hike I finally found the perfect spot to ask my soulmate to marry me. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
