For US citizens, you must have a valid passport to travel to India. Your passport must be valid for six months beyond date of visa application to obtain a visa. Your passport must have at least two blank pages. If you hold a non-Indian passport, you will need a tourist e-Visa. You can apply for a 30-day, 1-year, or 5-year e-Visa. For the 30-day e-Visa, you can apply up to 30 days in advance and no less than 4 days before you arrive; the 30-day period starts as soon as you arrive in India. For the 1-year, or 5-year e-Visas, the validity begins once you are granted the e-Visa. All e-Visa types allow multiple entries during the valid period. There are a number of sites that offer the e-Visa. We would recommend using the official Government of India website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html. You will need to collect some information for the application, but there is a helpful sample form that you can look at before you start the application form. For ease, we would recommend using the Paypal option for the payment, as foreign credit cards can sometimes encounter issues.
Yes, the hotel requires that all guests have proof of vaccination to attend events on the premises.
No, other than a full dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, you are not required to get any other vaccinations for travel to India. However, you may consult your physician to see if there are any other vaccinations that they may recommend for you.
As of 3/28/2022, all international arriving passengers have to: Submit self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal (https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration). Once you submit this form, you will receive a PDF version of it. Print this out and bring it with you to the airport; most likely, you will need to present it in the US and India. As part of this self-declaration form, you will need to: Upload a Certificate of completing full primary vaccination schedule of COVID-19 vaccination. OR Upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report conducted within 72 hrs prior to undertaking the journey
Anything that you like! The event page describes suggested attire, but you're welcome to wear Indian, Western, or other clothing -- whatever you feel most comfortable in! Many guests like to get Indian clothes for some or all of the events; if you'd like to do that, there are a number of clothing sites that ship to the US. You can also go to any local Indian clothing stores in your hometown. The hotel is also about five minutes from Ambience Mall Gurgaon, one of the biggest (and best!) malls in India, so you can also buy your clothes once you arrive in Delhi. It will be hot (and potentially rainy), so you will want to choose lighter fabrics.
Delhi in July is hot and can be quite rainy, as it is during monsoon season. While almost all of the events and activities are inside with AC, you may want to bring appropriate clothing for general sightseeing and venturing out and about!
The amount of cash that you would like to take out is completely up to you and whatever travel and activities you have planned for your stay. While stores and restaurants usually take foreign credit cards, new RBI guidelines have made it a bit more difficult for all cards* to be accepted, so we would advise having cash (rupees) on hand for convenience. Streetside souvenir stalls and smaller establishments will usually only take cash. Almost all hotels will have options for you to convert money there as well. *AMEX is widely accepted, so we would definitely recommend bringing one if you have it.
If that policy returns, we will be happy to coordinate your testing. In almost all cases, a healthcare professional will be able to come to the hotel and conduct the test on-site and provide all necessary documentation for travel.
