Old Scottsdale has a fun eclectic feel to it. The only drawback (pun intended) is that it is not the friendliest part of the valley. But there are a plethora of souvenir shops, restaurants, bakeries, art galleries, etc. there.
Its a decent sized mall and shopping center area!
Gilbert Historical Museum is here. I have not been to the museum but unlike Scottsdale, Gilbert has a very friendly atmosphere.
One of the many popular hikes in the valley.
This is an intense all day hike. It is difficult but fun.
This is a large trail system and fun area to explore. It is not the easiest to find so look for a small sign with a black bird on it. This is the trail. Although parking is not easy to explain either but about a mile from a picnic area there is a dirt lot to the left of the road and the trail head we use is to the right of the road. These trails are easy but bring shoes because it is uneven.
