It all started at a local brewery. The brewery was having a soft open and Miji's coworkers were gathering for happy hour. At 4:30pm Miji's coworkers started to confirm who was going to be at happy hour. Due to logistic difficulties Miji was leaning towards not going out. Side note: There is a myth that Miji received a text with a photo of Karly, which caused him to change his mind about going out. The myth has yet to be confirmed. Ok, back to the story. Karly was hanging out, watching a recorded UM football game, when one of her friends, Deena, invited her to happy hour. Deena's husband, Justin, works with Miji. When Miji arrived, Karly was sitting by the bar with Deena and Justin. Naturally, Miji walked over. The way Karly describes it is.. "I saw him walking towards us. The room got dark, a spot light followed him all the way to the bar. He looked like one of those hot European soccer players. Think Cristiano Ronaldo except much hotter." After some introductions, Karly and Deena received what any reasonable person would describe as a feast. Hamburgers, fries, mac and cheese balls, the works! Miji noticed that there was an uneven amount of mac and cheese balls, so he figured he would ask to try one before he ordered his food. We are sure it won't surprise anyone, but Karly said NO! Talk about first impressions huh..... Stomachs are full and spirits are high, when the group decided to keep the party going and go out to a new bar This is where the story gets fuzzy. A few drinks later, Karly and Miji are dancing to the finest explicit hip hop tunes and an occasional reggaeton lullaby. It's late and we are saying our goodbyes. Miji has enough liquid courage, and asked Karly for her number. Karly put her number in his phone. But Miji wasn't going to walk away without making sure it was the right number. He called her while standing in front of her. Her phone didn't ring. After an awkward moment, Karly gave Miji the right number and the rest is history.
