Cowans Gap State Park
15 minutes from Chambersburg, PA. This is the state park that we frequent the most! Multiple trails for all levels, a public beach at a CLEAN lake, with options for renting fishing boats and kayaks for the day. This is a great lake for paddle boarding at the end of summer!
Michaux State Forest
15-30 minutes from Chambersburg, PA depending on location of interest. This is our FAVORITE state park in the area! Multiple trails lead to overlooks of mountainous valleys, the trails are well taken care of, and it’s easy access to the Appalachian Trail!
