The two attended Detroit Academy of Arts & Sciences together. One day Jalen asked Karlii to borrow her headphones after class and the rest was history. The two dated throughout highschool, and attended their high school prom together. Jalen asked Karlii on their first date to Outback Steakhouse in 2010.
