Hi all! -It's Karlie & I'd like to share with you the story of how Sam and I met and the sparks (slowly) started flying ;) I was living with Cole Davis right after I graduated from Boise State, and one Thursday night Cole dragged me out to the local bar (Suds) for dollar beer night. I wasn't in the mood to go out, but I gave in and went. We met up with a group of Cole's friends, and I ended up sitting next to a tall drink of water named Sam at the bar. If you know Sam well, he's not a very talkative fellow, so you can imagine who did most of the talking for at least 2+ hours that night. Before Cole and I got ready to leave, I remember saying to Sam, "I think we're supposed to get each other's numbers now?" We made the exchange, and that was it. I'd like to say that he called me the next day to ask me out on a date, but that wasn't the case. Months later, I was planning a camping trip and was begging Cole to come. Cole had previous plans to go to a country music festival in Oregon with Sam that same weekend, so Cole told me that I'd have to convince Sam to come camping instead. I didn't even remember that I had Sam's phone number saved in my phone when I asked Cole for it. I sweet-talked Sam into changing his plans to come on my camping trip. I had high hopes Sam would make a move on me that camping trip weekend since I secretly had the hots for him, but he was quite the gentleman and decided to play the long game instead. Fast forward to the end of summer/beginning of my first year of teaching, and Sam reached out asking to take me to the fair. I turned him down as my mom was in town visiting to help me set up my classroom. Sam even offered for me to bring my mom to the fair with us (so cute of him). Over the next month or so, I started spending more time with Sam, and as you can guess, I haven't looked back since. He and I are quite opposite with many of our qualities, but we compliment each other better than I could imagine. Cheers to forever with my Sam The Man!
