Saunders-Monticello Trail
A nice walking trail about 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. Great mix of shaded woods and beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. (Check their website for updated trail hours)
Hollow Trail & Fire Trail Loop
Another one for our nature lovers! About 30 min dive from downtown in Mint Springs Valley Park, this trail is rated ‘Moderate’ and is more for the hikers. Stay on the loop, or branch off onto other trails to extend your trip. (Visit link for trail info/directions)
Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards
A must-see stop along the Monticello Wine Trail! Beautiful vineyard with excellent views, delicious wine and food. (Reservations for groups recommended)
Jefferson Vineyards
Also part of the Monticello Wine Trail and located a quick 10 minute drive from downtown Charlottesville. Couple with a trip to Monticello, and be sure to check out Simeon Market across the street for a picnic lunch before you go!
King Family Vineyards
One of our favorites! Gorgeous setting and delicious wine. About 25 minutes from downtown Charlottesville.
Random Row Brewing Co.
A locally owned, no frills taproom that serves excellent craft beer. Enjoy some “Billy Pie” off their wood-fired pizza menu while you’re there! Located in the heart of downtown Charlottesville.
Three Notch'd Craft Kitchen & Brewery
A Charlottesville staple. Fun spot for great craft beer, food, and for groups. Also has an excellent outdoor scene with tons of seating!
MarieBette Café and Bakery
French-inspired bakery downtown serving coffee, fresh breads, pastries, and brunch, and breakfast. You can visit their larger location on Rose Hill Drive for dining in, or swing by their petite bake shop on Water Street for a quick cafe and pastry.
Guajiros
Located directly across from the train station, this cafe is inspired by the flavors and culture of Miami serving dishes with strong influences from Cuba, Central and South America. Highly recommended breakfast or brunch option!
Bodo's Bagels
A breakfast bagel go-to in Charlottesville. Both their downtown University Ave. & Preston Ave. locations are walking distance from the hotel blocks.
Ivy Provisions
Great spot for sandwiches, salads and sides. Also have a little market filled with charcuterie, local beers + wines, and “made in Charlottesville” goodies. Great option if you’re in need of a winery picnic. About a 10 minute drive from downtown Charlottesville.
Farm Bell Kitchen
Located just a block away from both The Draftsman & The Graduate, this spot specializes in southern fare, and has an amazing brunch! Highly recommend their fresh-baked pastries and biscuits. (Reservations highly recommended for brunch)
The Alley Light
Located walking distance from all hotel blocks, Alley Light offers classic French shared plates, craft cocktails and small grower wines in a speakeasy type of setting. Dinner only — reservations required.

Originally a grocery, tavern, and boarding house in 1820, Tavern & Grocery specializes in creating menus based on seasonal, locally sourced produce surrounded by historic ambiance. Excellent option for dinner — and be sure to grab a cocktail at their cellar bar beforehand!
