Karli and Michael met at work (Jive Software). Karli had mentioned to a coworker that she thought Michael was cute and that was all it took to set things in motion. Shortly after that conversation, her team came up with a plan to set them up. Her coworker was about to get married and Karli was her backup while she was out on her honeymoon. Karli's coworker worked with Michael regularly and figured this would be the perfect time to introduce them. She reached out to Michael and said she wanted to introduce them that way if Karli had any questions she knew who to go to. They all agreed to meet on the rooftop deck for a drink and introductions and as soon as Michael showed up (3 hours late), Karli's coworker chugged her drink and disappeared. The rest is history....
On June 26, 2019, Michael pulled off the perfect surprise proposal. Later that evening, Karli and Michael were catching a red-eye flight to Peru. Though his original plan was to propose in Peru, Michael decided it would be more fun to spend the entire trip celebrating (he also didn't want to be responsible for the ring on the trip). He worked with her friends to get her out of the house while he was busy moving the furniture out of their living room and decorating. He created an aisle and lined it with 99 photos of them (with the idea that the 100th photo for the photo album would be him on one knee), rose petals, candles and string lights. When Karli walked in, Michael was standing at the end of the room in a suit with her favorite band playing in the background. It was MAGICAL.
