It all started in 2012 when Karleigh was living in Riverwest, Milwaukee with Nick and Dylan Hetzel. Brian was living in Denver, Colorado and came to visit Milwaukee around Christmas. Karleigh was in the process of packing and moving her things to New Orleans and Brian helped to pack her room up. He said things like, "I've always wanted to come see New Orleans!" followed by statements like, "You know, I've always kind of had a crush on you..." He even complimented her when she came home from waiting tables at Karl Ratzsch's (downtown German restaurant) and said she looked pretty in her 1980's dirndl dress (Ha!). Brian went back to Denver while Karleigh moved to New Orleans. They exchanged letters back and forth for a little while. Then one night Brian called Karleigh. He explained that he had some free time and some extra cash and was serious about coming to visit New Orleans. Karleigh was ecstatic and a little nervous, but mostly ecstatic. He came to visit and the rest is history. Sparks flew in New Orleans and two weeks later Karleigh decided to take some unnecessary Spanish classes in Denver. The plan was for Karleigh to get an apartment in Denver, but that never happened. Karleigh stayed the summer in Denver and got a job at a crappy salad place. They then decided to travel on several road trips while living out of their van and grew to realize they never wanted to separate. :) They've embarked on many long road trips, crossed boarders and several state lines and have started a family together. After spending nine years together its finally time to do the damn thing! Thank you so much for being a part of this journey. They cannot wait to celebrate with you all!
