Nothing exciting happens in Driver's Ed. Except maybe this time. I remember there was an informational meeting, and I was sitting with my friends and my grandma was sitting at a different table. I looked back and she was sitting with someone I didn't know, later figuring out that it was Matthew's dad. Who knew that would be our beginning.
Despite being interested in each other, we didn't start dating until January 21st, 2018. I know that the tagline is set for January 28th, but Matthew first asked me out on the 21st. After deciding he felt too rushed, he broke it off and asked me out for a second and final time on January 28th, 2013. Which also happened to be his sister Kendall's birthday, so he's very good at planning things!
Well, it started on July 9th, really. Cinnamon Beach, Florida. It was the first time I went on vacation with Matthew and his family. We've been talking about getting married for a long time, and I asked about it again. He said, "how about now?" I was shocked, to say the least, and told him that I wanted him to ask his parents about it first. He wasn't happy about that, but eventually asked both Chris and Kara what they thought. Thankfully they were fond of the idea that they were going to gain a new daughter, so on the night of July 12th, Matthew slyly asked if I wanted to take a walk with him on the beach. Knowing what was going to happen, I smiled big and headed out the condo door and into our future.
