During my last year at UGA, it was required that we intern at our setting of choice. If you know me, you know I've wanted to be a Physical Therapist for years, so I was determined to find the best fit for myself. After visiting multiple clinics, and talking with clinic directors, I finally found the one I knew I was meant to be at. Fast forward a few months and I had to set up an interview prior to beginning my internship. Somehow or another I ended up interviewing Matt on the phone. That phone call was probably the best phone call I had ever had. There was something special about him and our conversation that caught my attention. I remember hanging up the phone and thinking, wow, I really liked him. Was I crazy? I had no idea who he even was. I even tried to find him on Facebook but I was unsuccessful (who has their middle name on their FaceBook lol). I remember being so nervous to meet him on my first day. I couldn’t wait to meet the guy on the other end of the phone. We hit it off pretty quickly but kept it professional and built a friendship on top of that. Ultimately, I did not think anything of it and I truly was looking forward to my experience at the clinic. As time went on, I couldn’t ignore the fact that there was something undeniable between Matt and I. So much that I would joke to him that he could take me out on a date on July 31st, the last day of my internship. I’m so glad he actually took me up on that because the rest is history!! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. I am so thankful for that phone call!
It was love at first voice! Karlee and I met when I interviewed her for an internship at the clinic I was working at. We had such a fun conversation, and I remember thinking - “man, I don’t even know this girl, but I think I like her.” I remember her first day at the clinic, I literally had butterflies on the way in. I was so excited to meet the girl on the other end of the phone. As I walked through the back door, there she was almost glowing from the sunlight coming through the front windows. She was more beautiful than I had even imagined. There was instant chemistry between us, and I would later find out that we had both felt a connection during that first phone call. Haha we did play a little cat and mouse, but the attraction between us was undeniable. She kept telling me I could take her out on the 31st - the last day of her internship. Neither of us could wait that long. Now, I can’t imagine a life without her.
The proposal was truly amazing! Matt invited all of our friends and family out for an island party. He then had our good friend Levi with his big sail boat sail by the island with a banner asking me to marry him. Obviously I said YES! We're SO excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you all! See you in Breck!
