FAQs

In case you were wondering...
Question

What's the wedding venue address?

Answer

Blithewold Mansion 101 Ferry Road Bristol, RI 02809 Pop this into your GPS before you leave, and you'll find us! If you're taking the shuttle from the hotel, we'll handle all the navigation for you.

Question

Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors by the water! Since we're celebrating in early October in Rhode Island, it can get a bit crisp, especially near the waterfront—so consider bringing a light sweater or wrap. And a tip for the ladies: thicker heels or wedges will be much kinder to you on the grass than stilettos. The setting will be gorgeous—we can't wait for you to see it!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Formal attire, black tie optional. We're so excited to celebrate with everyone looking their best—it's a special night and we'd love for the attire to match the elegant, romantic vibes! Think suits and cocktail dresses at minimum, but if you want to go full black tie with a tux or gown, we're absolutely here for it. Just keep in mind the ceremony is outdoors on grass when picking your shoes!

Question

What's the weather typically like in October in Rhode Island?

Answer

Early October is peak fall in Rhode Island! Expect daytime temps in the 60s with cool evenings, especially near the water. It's sweater weather at its finest—gorgeous foliage, crisp air, and (fingers crossed) sunny skies. That said, New England loves to keep us guessing, so definitely check the forecast closer to the date and bring layers just in case!

Question

What time should we arrive?

Answer

Please plan to arrive between 4:30 and 4:50pm. If you're taking the shuttle from the hotel, it will depart with enough time to get you there around 4:30-4:45pm. If you're driving yourself, aim for that same window! We're getting married at a gorgeous historic mansion that's open to the public during the day, but after 4pm it's reserved just for us. You're more than welcome to explore the house and gardens after the ceremony—they're absolutely worth a stroll. Just be sure you're in your seat by 4:50pm so we can kick things off right at 5pm!

Question

What should we do if we're running late?

Answer

Don't stress! If you arrive a few minutes after the ceremony has begun, just quietly join us toward the back of the crowd—we'd rather have you there than miss out. And if you're running really late and can only make cocktail hour and the reception, that's totally okay too! We just want to celebrate with you, whenever you can get there.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

Hotel block information can be found in the Travel tab.

Question

When should we book our hotel room by?

Answer

As soon as possible! Hotel rooms in Providence tend to fill up, especially during fall wedding season. Our block will be held until September 8, 2026, but we encourage you to book early so you can snag the group rate and have one less thing to worry about.

Question

Where should we fly into?

Answer

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) or Boston Logan (BOS) - More information can be found in the Travel tab

Question

Can I drive myself to the wedding venue?

Answer

Of course! There's free parking available at the venue. We'll have shuttles running to and from the hotel, but feel free to drive if that works better for you. If you do drive, please be safe—no drinking and driving! You're welcome to leave your car overnight if needed, just make sure to pick it up by 10am the following day.

Question

What if I don't want to worry about my car?

Answer

We will be providing a shuttle service from the hotel to the venue before the start of the ceremony as well as from the venue back to the hotel at the end of the festivities.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Unfortunately, as much as we’d love to invite all of our friends’ children, we can only accommodate a few close family children for the ceremony. The reception to follow will be an adult-only celebration in order to meet guest capacity restrictions. We hope that you will understand this decision and that you will still be able to join us on our special day.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!
