Best Man
Karl met Larry back in 2014 at Andrews University in Michigan for the completion of their Medical Laboratory Science program. They clicked instantly and became roommates. Larry was Karl’s first roommate. They had similar interests in sports, photography, experiencing new foods & places, and playing League of Legends. After, the year at Andrews University. Larry & Karl kept in touch, visiting each other and going on several trips from Banff National Park in Canada to Philadelphia/Washington DC on the East Coast and explored various areas like Utah. Larry went onto Dental school at Loma Linda University and Karl went on to working in the Lab until Karl got into Physician Assistant (PA) school at Loma Linda University where they reunited. Larry is currently practicing as a Dentist in Oregon after practicing in Alaska. Despite the distance Karl & Larry are still very close.
Matron of Honor
Elizabeth is Jessica’s middle sister they're two years apart. However, you wouldn't know this by the way Jessica admires her sister's loving, caring, and non-judgmental nature. As well as her relationship with God. Jessica couldn’t be happier to have Elizabeth and her little family be part of the wedding! Elizabeth asked Jessica to be her maid of honor on her big day so it's only fair that she return the favor.
Groomsman
Karl & Jason are 1st cousins, being the only guys around the same age on the mother’s side of the family, they were bound to be close. Jason is from Toronto, Canada, and during their childhood years, both families would either make the drive up to Toronto or drive down to Maryland during the holiday season. As they have gotten older, they have made sure to keep in touch whether it be on the west or east coast especially during family events/reunions. Over the years, they have bonded over basketball and video games. They both share snowboarding as a hobby, but have yet to plan a trip together. Karl is looking forward to that trip (hint hint, Jason). Jason has always been the chill and loyal cousin of Karl.
Bridesmaid
Ariana is Jessica’s baby sister and homie for life. She is known for her infectious laughter and making you laugh over videos, pranks, or random things she says. She brings LIFE into every room she steps into. She is always having a good time even when she is working! Jessica is excited that Ariana will be part of her big day!
Groomsman
Karl & DeAndré have known each other for a while. They met playing basketball and soccer back in Maryland, where they played against each other for a few years. They ended up going to the same high school and college and continued to play sports and take classes together. Whenever Karl goes back to Maryland they would play ball like the old days in open gyms. DeAndré is one of Karl's few friends that he is still close to from his childhood.
Bridesmaid
Sherri is Jessica’s future sister-in-law aka Karl’s little sister. Sherri is known for her Ariana Grande vocal cords, Great British bakeoff baking skills, and her love for fitness. Jessica is counting on Sherri to help her transition to becoming the newest member of the De La Cruz family, haha. Jessica is excited that Sherri said yes to being a bridesmaid and can’t wait to make lots of fun memories with Sherri!
Groomsman
Karl & Kenneth are 1st cousins on Karl’s father side. Kenneth and Karl grew up playing on soccer and basketball teams, playing instruments and singing at various occasions with the rest of the Dela Cruz cousins. They love to joke around and they always make sure to catch up on missed time when Karl visits MD. Karl appreciates that he can always depend on Kenneth to have a good time.
Bridesmaid
Jessica meet Aida in Portland, OR in 2011 through a mutual friend and they quickly became besties. They bonded over salsa dancing, exploring Portland, working at JCPenney, and a 1 year stint as roommates. Aida is known for being dependable, loyal, and believing in you even when you don’t believe in yourself. Jessica loves Aida for her giving spirit and huge heart and is excited to have Aida be part of her big day!
Groomsman
Karl met Matt in PA school in 2017, where they hit it off right away at a get together party prior to the start of PA school. They became study partners during PA school and helped each other through a time of intense studying in a rigorous program. Matt introduced Karl into cryptocurrency and bonded over other hobbies like basketball, golfing, camping, and traveling including the Pacific Coast Trip and Big Bear Trip. They both share their love for the Lakers and Kobe Bryant.
Bridesmaid
Jessica met JC in PA school through Jane! They quickly became friends and bonded over their love for adventure and exploring the outdoors/new places (Napa, Utah, Arizona, four corners of the USA). Joycelyn is known for her love of exploring new places (restaurants and the great outdoors). As well as being loyal, patient, and a private tour guide when visiting Hawaii. It’s only fitting that Joycelyn joins Jessica as a bridesmaid on her greatest adventure yet!
Groomsman
Karl & Jez are 1st cousins on Karl’s father side. They have shared many childhood experiences together, from going to the same elementary school and part of high school to playing the same sports and even attending many Pathfinder campouts. A fun fact about Jezreel and Karl is that both of their families were living under the same roof for a couple months (when Karl's family moved from CA to MD). Over the years, they played soccer and basketball together and still enjoy going to NBA basketball games. They have had countless sleepovers over the years playing video games, watching movies, and of course eating out at various places with their other cousins. Karl is looking forward to having Jezreel by his side this September.
Bridesmaid
Jessica met Jane in PA school through a study group and they quickly became friends. They bonded over their faith and worship during PA school. They also bonded through the trauma and stress of working together in the Emergency Department at LLUMC as PA’s during the pandemic. Jane has been with Jessica through some of her biggest life moments. Jessica can’t imagine her special day without Jane standing by her side.
Groomsman
Karl & Jordan grew close during the Covid-19 pandemic. Jordan took Karl in as a roommate right at the start of the pandemic before Karl started working at the Urgent Care. They enjoyed playing NBA 2K, golf (H.O.R.S.E. 😂) at their apartment at the time, hiking, and trying new food spots in SoCal. They grew close spiritually as well, worshipping God while churches were on lock down, and even going to Hulda Crooks to have their own outdoor church. They were also helping out with Fusion Ministries, where they would spend time with the homeless of San Bernardino. Karl & Jordan share a commonality in which they are both getting hitched this year!
Bridesmaid
Jessica met Sora in PA school through a study group and they quickly became friends. They bonded over food and their love for R&B (Nas, J.Cole, Sza, etc.). They continue to share their love for food by meeting up once a month for brunch and catch up on life. Sora is known for being a good listener, providing words of wisdom, and loving all of you (the good and bad). Jessica is happy that Sora said Yes to being a bridesmaid! Fun Fact: Sora and her hubby are known to throw delectable dinner parties!
