Riley and Karla have known each other for as long as they can remember, as they both went to PAS. Karla remembers in middle school how she always thought Riley was pretty cute as they passed each other in the hallways. High school brought them closer as they had mutual friends. It wasn't until Riley's senior year and Karla's junior year when Riley thought "If I ever have the chance, I'm going after her." Fast forward a couple months to a family snowmobile trip to the Black Hill, sparks started flying with conversation in the hot tub, flirting while riding, and a kiss to seal the deal. Things were all down hill from there.

The Black Hills hold a special place in Riley and Karla's hearts, so Riley knew that's exactly where he wanted to propose. The couple was in the Black Hills over Labor Day weekend on a 4-wheeling and hiking trip with close friends. Saturday morning came and Riley was very persistent on taking a group picture. After the group picture was taken, it was time for couple pictures just as the fog was lifting off of the lake. Naturally, Karla got to talking to the gentleman who took the group picture for them so, Riley and Karla took their couple picture last. Just as Karla thought the pictures were over and about to walk away, Riley caught her hand and said "I love you so much and something has been weighing on my mind a lot lately" he then drops to his knee "Will you marry me?" Karla was caught completely off guard, immediately says yes and they embrace in a hug.
